Any idea when the “Oohrah” thingie came about? It wasn’t in our lingo during my latter 1960’s tour.

If it wasn’t in the late 60’s, It must have started in the early 70’s sometime. I served 73-77 and it was definitely there then. Must have come from the Vietnam era’s drill instructors....................

Oorah has been reported to come from the Turkish word, "Uhrah", which means: "KILL". I have no idea if that is true.
