Singer-songwriter Peter Gabriel says he is not anti-Israel, but that he is “against occupation”.

Gabriel, who originally rose to fame with the band Genesis, contributed songs to a new compilation album titled “2 Unite All”, proceeds from which go to humanitarian organizations aiding Palestinian Arabs in Gaza, reports i24news.

“I am certain that Israelis and Palestinians will both benefit from a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders,” Gabriel said in a statement quoted by i24news. “We have watched Palestinians suffer for too long, especially in Gaza.” …

Any comment on China’s occupation of Tibet, Peter? How about ISIS’ occupation of parts of Iraq and Syria?

*crickets

“I am certain that Israelis and Palestinians will both benefit from a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders,”

Quite true, if Palestinians and Arabs were willing to live in peace with Israel.

Since they're not, it's a little like the old comment that if your aunt had wheels, she'd be a tea cart.

If and when the Arabs become willing to live in peace, the whole issue can be settled by negotiation in a day. Until then, negotiations are a delusion, a snare and a racket.

That’s all aside from the fact that the Philistines (not descended from Abraham, or from Shem for that matter, but it’s who the “Palestinians” claim they are by using the name “Palestinian”) were not Semites but instead Hamites

The Philistines were probably Greeks, or Myceneans, or at least from that neck of the woods, and therefore descendants of Japheth. They are most likely descended from defeated "Sea Peoples" settled by Pharoah along the coast of Canaan.

Then he should read history and he’d figure out Palestine and Palestinian people are made up.

Not a particularly good argument for Americans to make, since we also do not have deep historical roots in the land we now occupy. If the arguments for the Jews being the "real" owners of the land are applied across the board, most Americans should "go back where they came from."

The reason there is no 2 state solution and never will be is because the arabs need this conflict to continue to distract from the incredible failures of the arab world, arab culture, arab life, arab males, and most of all the sick psycho arab religion of islam.

If it weren’t for oil wealth, all arab countries would be unadulterated sh*t-holes. As it is, even the richest ones are still sh*t-holes, they are just luxury-lined sh*t-holes.

Yep, that’s it exactly.

Want peace with Israel? sure, stop killing Israelis.

It’s actually really easy, IF they truly wanted peace.

But since they don’t . . .

I agree — I weary of celebs who think their star power rates them any audience apart from their recognized talent as a musician -talk jock, actor —whatever. But I too am against occupation—in this sense I too am against the occupation of American politics which has assumed powers not intended by the men who constructed our system. As for Israel — it owns the land and the occupiers are those who desecrate the Temple Mount by their bloody LIE the al oxya Mosque.

there has been a two state solution since the founding of Jordan in 1946. No reason to create another failed mooselim country out of what is rightfully Israel.

It’s been pretty obvious for decades at least that those in the entertainment industry have gone full idiot on the propaganda machine for loser causes.

Israel was there before any muslim nation, by over 3,000 years!

Who’s occupying who?

Yup, occupied Gaza, the worst. What Gabriel advocates for a Jewless Judea and Samaria.

Dear Peter Gabriel, tell me, is Tel Aviv occupied? What land exactly is “occupied” in Israel.

Transjordan was not part of the 1946 deal. It’s only pan-Arabists that regard Jordanians as so-called “Palestinians”.

These Arabs that mendaciously call themselves “Palestinians” are from other countries, such as Turkey, Syria, Egypt ad nauseam; they specifically moved there to oppose any Jewish state’s existence. It’s all about Ottoman Empire revanchism.

So very true. And what is especially insufferable is their claim that, because they are “artists,” they have unique insights and “sensitivity” regarding political matters - and therefore their opinions should be accorded special deference.

Sorry, you lose.

You labeled my point, you didn’t disprove it.

If you’re interested in presenting counter-arguments, I’m quite willing to consider them.

There is a well-known sociological phenomenon by which a group begins to think of itself as “a people,” and in the process become one. Every “people” on earth has gone through this process at one time or another, the only difference being when.

Ethnogenesis can be internal or imposed by outsiders.
