...but I have not heard that there is already agreement that the next one will cover the rest of FY 2015. If the Republicans agreed to that, then they have once again ceded the ground without a fight.

Cruz fought to have the continuing resolution extend only until March 1, so that the new Congress would have a voice in the budget.

But McConnell and Boehner outgunned him.

They both continually prove their worthlessness. There were two decent possibilites:

1. The current CR extended past the lame duck session.

2. The current one ended during the lame duck, as it does, but with no agreement on the length of the next one.

They just caved and won neither of those compromise positions.
