Obama Lashes Out at Republicans During White House Bipartisan Lunch

Obama met with Republican leaders today at the White House for a “bipartisan lunch.”
This was his first meeting with Republican leaders after Democrats were shellacked in the midterm elections.

Obama lashed out at Republicans when the cameras were turned off.
The AP reported:

Republicans attending the postelection lunch at Obama’s invitation said they asked him for more time to work on legislation, but the president said his patience was running out. He reiterated his intent to act on his own by the end of the year if they don’t approve legislation to ease deportations before then and send it to him to sign.

The Republicans’ approach, three days after they resoundingly won control of the Senate in midterm elections, “seemed to fall on deaf ears,” Sen. John Cornyn of Texas said in a telephone interview. “The president instead of being contrite or saying in effect to America, ‘I hear you,’ as a result of the referendum on his policies that drove this last election, he seems unmoved and even defiant.”

“I don’t know why he would want to sabotage his last two years as president by doing something this provocative,” said Cornyn…

The meeting was tense at times, according to a senior House Republican aide. The aide was not authorized to describe the back-and-forth publicly by name and spoke only on condition of anonymity.

Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid, about to lose his grip on the upper chamber, barely said a word. The aide said at one point as House Speaker John Boehner was making an argument on immigration, Obama responded that his patience was running out and Vice President Joe Biden interrupted to ask how long Republicans needed. Obama angrily cut Biden off, the aide said.

He is trying to blackmail republicans into doing his dirty work for him - the exact opposite of what voters expect them to do.

There will be no riots. No one is listening to him anymore.

“Much has been written about the mental state of Obama - and even the press is now questioning his inability to grasp the rejection of his policies (and him personally). It may take an open meltdown of some sort to confirm his mental and emotional inability to function as President, but as Democrats are themselves ready to revolt rather than find themselves totally eviscerated at the next election, they may find the 25th amendment their way out.

Some will argue that this section of the amendment was only intended to deal with physical incapacity such as by stroke or heart attack - but clearly there was an intent that mental problems where the President would try to argue he is not incapacitated while others see that he is was clearly contemplated - thus the second round and decision by the Congress in an expedited fashion being provided for.

Quicker and cleaner than impeachment, keeps their policies above the fray, and simply takes out what has only become a liability for the next two years.”

I’m fine with that option, too! It’s brilliant.

Whatever it takes (legally), baby... enough is enough.

If he has a public meltdown, look for this to start. His handlers won’t let that happen, though.

That’s what I fear.

I’m just hoping he has a live moment in front of the cameras that can’t be explained away. We can always pray... :) And think positive thoughts! LOL. :)

Republicans should, as soon as possible, go through the proper budget process,

The Republican leadership has already agreed with the Democrat leadership to pass yet another continuing resolution covering fiscal 2015 during the lame duck.

The next budget covers fiscal 2016, which starts November 1, 2015 isn't due until October, 2015.

However, while it won't happen as soon as you'd like, your approach is otherwise dead on: under regular order, prepare twelve departmental appropriation bills carefully controlling spending and de-funding whatever is practical.

It is amazing. I asked it when I sat down to write my article about Obama eventually being forced out of office — I asked specifically about the plausibility of what I was intending to write. I got the hexagram for Revolution.

I know the current continuing resolution expires and has to be renewed during the lame duck, but I have not heard that there is already agreement that the next one will cover the rest of FY 2015. If the Republicans agreed to that, then they have once again ceded the ground without a fight.

Republicans can’t do anything by year’s end without Reid, who has blocked more than 350 pieces of legislation from the House, including budgets.

But Reid would let it go for a vote in the Demonrat senate if the Republican house capitulated in an immigration bill .
