Yes, hire more room temperature IQ’ers in the name of “diversity”. The less intelligent, non-creative and slacker population is underrepresented in the Silicon Valley work force.

I've been in the hi-tech industry all my life, and there's little that's more disruptive to advanced tech projects than a somehow-protected-from-higher-up, unqualified, affirmative-action hire. Previous efforts to streamline the job tend to go out the window to allow the hire extra time and resources to "keep up."

If such a person is (properly) compartmentalized, the hire will probably sense it. Ultimately, neither the project nor the hire is helped, outside a fat paycheck. If the hire makes unhappy noises, morale and productivity only get worse. Just like the adage "buy a woman you hate a house," to skip the whole divorce brouhaha, just give an undeserving minority a fat paycheck and leave advanced projects and their hard workers alone, if you think of kick-starting an unqualified minority's career by dropping him or her into a fast-paced high-tech environment.

Oh, but the goal is to have such a person become an executive in your company, running things in a high-tech division? Sepuku is faster, with the same result.
