Why the Temple Mount Belongs to Jews and Israel

In Jerusalem, The Temple Mount is the historical location of the First and Second Temples, the holiest place in the world for Jews. There has been ongoing disputes about the right of Jews to pray there and it is absurd that anyone in the world can deny Jews the right of freedom of prayer in the State of Israel.
A week ago, American-born Rabbi Yehuda Glick, a leader of the movement encouraging Jews to pray at the Temple Mount, was shot by a Palestinian Arab assassin who objected to the idea of Jews praying on the Temple Mount. The Palestinian Arabs continue to do all they can to deny Jews the right to live and pray in the Jewish State. It is unacceptable and Jews must have the right to pray at the Temple Mount.
Zeev Jabotinsky, the Zionist prophet, once asked, Is a situation moral in which one side can commit any crime or murder and the other is forbidden to react? There must be a price for attacks upon Jews in Israel at the holiest site in Judaism and amongst that price must be increased rights of Jews to pray. As Ricki Hollander has said,
Jewish reverence for the Temple Mount long predates the building of the Dome of the Rock and Al Aqsa Mosque in the 7th century CE, and even predates the construction of the first Jewish Temple by King Solomon almost 2000 years earlier.
There are so many meaningful reasons and quotes about the Jewish connection to the Temple Mount:
* There is very telling Jewish teaching about the Temple Mount, and that is: whoever controls the Mount, controls the world. Yisrael Medad
* [The Temple Mount] is the only place in the country where you feel youre discriminated against because youre Jewish. Eli Duker
* I want equal rights for Jews on the Temple Mount. What Muslims do, I want to do too. Arnon Segal
* There is only one meaning to giving up the Temple Mount: the end of the State of Israel. Ronen Shoval
* Although other parts of the Temple Mount retaining wall remain standing, the Western Wall is especially dear, as it is the spot closest to the Holy of Holies, the central focus of the Temple. Rabbi Shraga Simmons
* This compound was our Temple Mount. Here stood our Temple during ancient time, and it would be inconceivable for Jews not to be able freely to visit this holy place now that Jerusalem is under our rule. Defense Minister Moshe Dayan
* Islamist exclusivity has debased the Temple Mount. Its time to return this holy site to its original inclusivity and allow anyone who wants to pray there respectfully to do so. That is the meaning of Jewish sovereignty and human dignity. Moshe Dann
* According to the Talmud, the world was created from the foundation stone of the Temple Mount. Its believed to be the biblical Mount Moriah, the location where Abraham fulfilled Gods test to see if he would be willing to sacrifice his son Isaac. Aaron Klein
* But you cannot be a Zionist if you are prepared to yield the place that provides us with the moral, historic and religious right to this land – the Temple Mount. Ronen Shoval
* It is the supposed site of Mt. Moriah, where Abraham nearly sacrificed his son Isaac, where the prophet Muhammad is believed to have ascended into heaven, and was the location of the first and second temples, Judaism’s most holy structures. Jason Reuter
* Every Jew that goes to the Temple Mount puts another stone in the building of the Temple, and is making another step to fulfill Jewish sovereignty on the Temple Mount. Moshe Feiglin
* Three times a day, for thousands of years, Jewish prayers from around the world have been directed toward the Temple Mount. Kabbalistic tradition says that all prayers from around the world ascend to this spot, from where they then ascend to heaven. Rabbi Shraga Simmons
* We were not trying to demonstrate that its exclusively ours, or that we want the Muslims off, only that its a significant, if not the most significant Jewish site, archaeologically, historically, and religiously. This is the heart of it all. Elli Fischer
* To compare the Temple Mount to Mount Olympus is to bring everything into focus. Dr. Israel Eldad
* It is the Jewish root the deepest roots that any people has. Elsewhere, we grope for insight. Rabbi Shraga Simmons
* The Temple Mount has remained a focal point for Jewish services for thousands of years. Prayers for a return to Jerusalem and the rebuilding of the Temple have been uttered by Jews since the Second Temple was destroyed, according to Jewish tradition. Aaron Klein
* Jewish religious interest in the Mount is not monolithic, and includes those who merely want to visit a site of great Jewish importance, those who believe Jews should be allowed to pray there, those who believe Temple rituals, like sacrifice, should be renewed immediately, and those who support the construction of a Third Temple in place of the Islamic shrines of the Noble Sanctuary. Matti Friedman
* Since Jews ascend it would not enter my mind to stop them from holding prayers services there. Itzhak Nissim
* Despite the conventional wisdom that the Jewish people were banished from this holy site, the evidence suggests that Jews continued to maintain a strong connection to and frequently even a presence on the Temple Mount for the next two thousand years. F.M. Loewenberg
As Yisrael Medad of the Menachem Begin Heritage Center has noted,
Although the Temple Mount is important to both groups, only under Jewish rule have both religions been given access to the Temple Mount. Therefore, it must remain under Israeli rule.
Bottom line: It was a Jewish city before it was an Islamic moon rock cult site.
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

No justification needed. The son’s of pig f’n dogs took it by way of the sword and have never had a claim on it. Throw them all out; Jews and Christians have always been there.
By several thousand years.
If a Muslim sets foot on a piece of ground he/they claim it forever theirs.
It's a Jewish city before, now, future.
> Bottom line: It was a Jewish city before it was an Islamic moon rock cult site.
I wonder how the Muslims would feel if Jews blocked access to Mecca. I’m guessing a lot of head lopping...
“Your head a’splode.”
The Muzzies would go completely batstuffingly insane.
The UN would be flooded with ranting and raving by the muzzies.
Wonder what it would take to get certain people in public office to admit that much?
All of this is true. But Bibi isn’t doing anything about it, and he easily can, slowly, in steps. But people need to understand that he is a coward. Bibi was PM in the late 1990s when Israel discovered that the Muslim “Wakf” that runs the site was excavating beneath the Mount and destroying and carting off Jewish history in dumpsters to a landfill miles away. What did Netanyahu do? NOTHING. He could have easily used that as a pretext to end Jordanian administration of the Mount. He did not. He also gave away Hebron, Judaism’s 2nd holiest city. He makes me sick. Jews and gentile conservatives need to stop idolizing him and showing pictures of him in an IDF uniform (so what? every Israeli serves) and start hammering him for his cowardice.
Mt. 21:43 Therefore I say to you, that the kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and shall be given to a nation yielding the fruits thereof.
I am beginning to come to the same conclusion. It pains me to say that, but the truth is that Netanyahu has blown every opportunity he has had to really set back the enemies of Israel. The latest conflict in Gaza is just another example. I have a nephew in the IDF, and he said that everybody in the IDF was furious at not being unleashed to finish off Hamas. Everyone in Israel knows that more rockets will be coming, and the truth is that it could all have been prevented. Yes, Netanyahu would have had some heat to deal with from other nations, but when the Saudis and Egyptians were on the same side, it would have been very muted. For a guy with such personal physical courage, it is rather stunning to see how little political courage he has.
Time for Feiglin.
Strange Times,,,,
Easily for at least 3,000 years (more than likely longer).
LOL at you. God has an eternal covenant with Israel, and among His other attributes, He is not a liar. Like a parent who sometimes gets upset with the bad behavior of his or her children, but never stops loving them or being committed to them, He sometimes punishes Jews for their bad behavior...but His commitment and love never ends.
FYI, if you want to play the superseding religion game, then you will lose that one. You claim that Christianity superseded Judaism? Well, the Moslems claim that their religion superseded yours. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. You will, of course, be very upset about that, and believe and maintain until your dying day that yours is the true religion and that nothing can supersede it. Well, welcome to my world.
Back to the covenant thing. All that a covenant is, is a holy contract between God and a people. In the same way that you and I can simultaneously have multiple contracts so can God. I fail to understand why it is that so many people believe that God can only have one covenant. It is very clear in the five books of Moses (which, if you dismiss as irrelevant would simultaneously dismiss all of Christianity) that there are a different set of rules for the Jewish people. They have more burdens placed upon them, as a light unto the nations, and commensurate greater rewards if they actually do what they are supposed to do. However, it is equally clear that any person who behaves according to God’s rules has a place in Heaven.
God told Abraham in Genesis 12:3 “and I will bless those who bless thee, and him that curse the thee I shall curse; in thee shall all the families of the world be blessed.” Take heed, because God does not lie, and the God of Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps.
It was painful for me to come to this conclusion a few years ago...but it’s true.
Israel needs a Right-Wing Zealot who will draw the sword against every muslim that even thinks about attacking Jews.
The Temple Mount belongs to Adonai who chose it and hallowed it with His presence. He has given it to His chosen people the Jews. No one else has any claim to it. Period. They can argue with the Creator. I read the end if the Book and already know how that one works out
You my friend are in for a big surprise. God has never abandoned His chosen people the Jews and is not done with them yet. The time is coming soon when all Israel will be saved
That’s replacement theology and flawed.
God never fails to keep His promises!
See Romans 11:24-25 for that reference (John 10:16 also) There has always been a remnant of Jews saved throughout the ages by God.
His promise to Abraham will be fulfilled soon actually.
The Church cannot nor will it ever replace Israel. We’re grafted into God’s Family thru Israel. All of Romans 11 really talks about this.
