The Navy SEAL who killed Osama Bin Laden has been identified.

Rob O’Neill, a team leader of Naval Special Warfare Development Group, is currently a circuit speaker.
Navy SEAL Robert ONeills mantra is Never quit.

Rob O’Neill shot Osama three times in the head.
The Daily Mail reported:
The Navy SEAL who shot Osama bin Laden dead in the special force’s most famous operation can be named today.
The Navy hero is set to give a full interview to Fox News later this month and waive his anonymity but MailOnline has established that he is Rob O’Neill, a highly-decorated veteran who quit after 16 years service.
In an exclusive interview Rob’s father, Tom O’Neill, tells MailOnline, ‘People are asking if we are worried that ISIS will come and get us because Rob is going public. I say I’ll paint a big target on my front door and say come and get us.’
Rob O’Neill, 38, is a former member of SEAL Team Six who has been portrayed on screen in Zero Dark Thirty, Captain Phillips and Lone Survivor.
He is one of the most distinguished members ever of the elite force – but now faces being frozen out of its circles for revealing its most closely-held secrets.
O’Neill was personally congratulated for killing bin Laden – in his account at close range with three shots to his forehead – during the SEAL raid on Abbottobad, in Pakistan, on 2 May 2011.
Questions have previously been raised over the exact narrative of how bin laden came to die, although the dispute centers on an alternative account which claims O’Neill shot him once, leaving him mortally-wounded and the terrorist was killed by two other SEALs with further shots to the chest rather than forehead.
O’Neill’s decision to speak out was prompted by losing some of his military benefits by quitting the SEALs after 16 years rather than staying for a full 20 years of service.

In Islam, burial at sea is about the worst way to go - only accepted if, while at sea, the body would be subject to significant decay before proper (albeit hasty) burial on land could be arranged. Since they were on a seriously large ship (aircraft carrier IIRC?) "respectful" would have been stick him in a freezer in the morgue until next docking.
Overboard was to mitigate any squabbles about what to do with him upon landfall. Done, gone, nobody knows where.
This exposure sounds very risky to me for him and his family.
They scratch our back and we scratch theirs. USA naturally should take the lead in not scratching or acting as their 'blue-eyed servants in war'. Doesn't SA and their Gulf Sheikhis have their own military? Can't they defend themsleves? Aren't and haven't they been funding their Islamic crap ideology all over the world? Yes, they have, can do & also can pull back, instead of only running like Big Corporations & dollarocracy.
It really comes back down to USA not supporting this nonsense. So long as USA does, we can expect other nations, who are not in bed with SA et al, to counter them by proxy or otherwise. Overall, this mess we're in now will gradually get worse.
I need to sleep! More later..
Wonder what they had to say about Marcus Luttrell.....
However, if that ceremony at sea could be taken as an insult, that doesn't make me unhappy.
It's just that my skepticism and distrust of all things flowing from the obama outhouse, I mean White House, keeps me from accepting all things bin Laden as officially presented.
That we gave up some secret stealth tech to "get him" adds to my skepticism.
Yeah. This way he had to have seen it coming, if only very, very briefly.
“The Bush’s have been silent.”
Well, don’t you all remember Bush wanting BinLadens head in a box, which I think he received shortly after Tora Bora. Assuming something like that, how does GWB call Obama a liar, when in fact, he knows exactly what happened? They both play the game together.
Shot by SEALs and then dumped in the ocean is a suitable end for OBL.
While I understand the skepticism surrounding the standard story, I don’t see much reason to objectively disbelieve it. The full story, at least as detailed in _No_Easy_Day_, is mundane enough to be believable.
As for “giving up secret stealth tech”, abandoning a crashed “stealth” helicopter under the circumstances (invading a tacitly friendly country for assassination purposes) wasn’t much of an option.
It was a great and timely story with all the right endings and one obama rode back into office. It must be true.
Besides, it's not like there are rules and regulations against telling stories, right?
He quit at 16 years so Obama could not send him to his death in the next two years and share the same fate like Seal Team Six had in Afghanistan. He is safer from being Benghazied the farther away he is from Obama’s control.
I’m not sure I would want to serve in the military under a commander who sides with the enemy.
I want him to talk as we are never going to hear the truth from obama and the democrats.
They are even now covering up cases of ebola in this country while bringing in 3rd world disease on purpose.
Remember it was obama who let in a film crew from hollywood to do a movie and told them classified stuff.
Said another way, "What difference, at this point, does it make?"
I can't help but notice that, with our current GuvCo, truth is what they want it to be.
Belief is optional...for now.
Maybe he quit because he realized the CIC is a POS that would sacrifice him in an instant?
Yes, cowering at terrorists is the wayto go.
No 50 cal to head. The last thing he saw was an American commando putting a bullet in his head. Just when he thought he was safe at home.
I wish they had the death scene lighted and the Seal team member saying hello Osama with Bin Laden's mouth open as the Seal team guy blows his head off. I certainly would have cheered that.
“Doesn’t seem normal for a SEAL to trumpet a personal accomplishment in this manner”
He was a member of a Special Forces team that allegedly killed Bin Laden. I say allegedly because no body was ever seen, no autopsy ever performed and I believe absolutely nothing that comes out of the dunce’s White House.
With that said, this guy was a member of a Special Forces team on a classified mission. He is no better than any other member on that mission. Seals or any other Special Forces team members don’t toot their own horn. I hope the other members of the team put him in his place.
That he was stupid enough to get out 4 short years before retirement is his own fault. Unless he was kicked out he was idiot. He deserves not one cent from the US military. If he has any medical problems he can file a claim like any other veteran. Just another “hero” in his own mind wanting to write a book for doing exactly what he was paid to do.
This is all fake!
Especially so, considering anything from wife and kids to parents/siblings could be the targets. These fanatics, or even lone wolf nutcases, are willing to do barbaric stuff to themselves like rip their privates off with an underwear bomb, they could just as well kill a spec ops guy and/or his family with a standard terrorist MO.
