The full magnitude of the Republican Partys success in reshaping the national political landscape at President Obamas expense became clearer Wednesday morning as the party seemed headed toward an even longer list of electoral victories in Senate and governor races that had been too close to call before dawn.
The results are an immediate blow to the administrations hopes to further broaden the presidents health care law by expanding Medicaid in additional states.
White House aides are bracing for calls from both parties for Mr. Obama to cancel or postpone plans to announce executive actions that would reshape the nations immigration laws and provide the legal authority for millions of undocumented immigrants to stay in the country. Mr. Obama promised to unveil his plans soon after the congressional elections, and aides signaled that he was unlikely to back down from that promise.
The scope of his partys losses may force Mr. Obama to offer a new vision for governing in an environment where he now has fewer legislative allies.

It must really hurt the whining liberals at the times to admit this.
Oh, he’s gonna do amnesty.
The RINO’s are clearly now intent on doing it. Obama does not want to share any credit with them. He wants the Democrat Party to be the Sole and Only Savior to Hispanics on this issue. So he is getting out his pen as we speak.

0bama will announce Amnesty for Illegal Aliens today, the GOPe will whine (for looks only) and do nothing (because they really like it).
See... it's like this:
From the start there has been nothing but disinformation about the breadth and depth of support for “O” and his policies.
THAT, along with wholesale MSM collusion, the massive voter fraud that it took to get him on the DNC ticket initially, then into office the FIRST time... AND the 2nd time... well, it just went to their heads and they believed their OWN hype...I think they actually FORGOT that it was never real and that instead, it is so laughably artificial.
The support and approval WAS NEVER THERE! The building had to fall on their heads and I am sure that some of them will still find a way to deny that Liberalism is a sham and their guy is the sham OF a sham!
The media had better wise up to the fact that they are no longer the gatekeepers, the disseminators, the guardians of the news.
As long as they maintain their posture of everything left, anti-western cultural and impossibly biased, they will continue to recede into the backwash of irrelevancy.
The battle is on and 2016 looms, but the game is becoming more and more matched.
The nadir of pure ridiculousness was the NYT editorial demanding an end to the mid-term elections and the claim that the anachronistic political season was simply a relic of the Founders’ with no application to the present.
It is sourgrapes rather than a measured, thoughtful analysis. Next time, just pick up your toys and go home.
The Dems said that Obama isn't on the ballot in 2014. He was. They said that Obamacare isn't on the ballot in 2104. It was. Pols show that 2/3's of Americans don't want amnesty. Look at the blue state Oregon vote on licenses/IDs for illegals...it lost BIG.
If Obama does an executive order amnesty, Hillary will have to oppose it...and lose her base, and maybe invite a primary challenger from the left..or support it..and lose the election.
Interesting Poster. I have been postulating a theory on how to explain Obama’s behavior. No doubt he is a post-American president which explains his policies, but it does not explain (entirely) his behavior. Presidents are defined by generations. The USA was run by WW2 vets and Baby Boomers for 55 years. Although separated by a war, they had similar upbringing. Obama on the other hand is the first “Trophy Generation” President. Everyone wins, not you fault, world owes you, nothing you do is ever wrong. Lord help us when we elect the second generation of the Trophy kids!
Really? With 12-30 million newly legal voters who are grateful to Democrats? Can you be sure?
I hear your arguments. Amnesty is toxic. But 0bama doesn’t care.
His game is the 50 year game. He is FINE with a wipeout in 2016. He wants to win every election for leftism starting in 2018.
They won’t be able to vote..and remember, an executive order can be repealed by the next president..
The rats are already deserting the sinking ship. Barkey is not going to have a lot of support going forward.
Let’s have a gentleman’s bet: I bet 0bama announces an illegal Amnesty within 30 days, and the Republicans will have no effective counteraction. Deal?
I can’t believe Washington State may end up with a Republican controlled State House! WOW! This is a big deal here.
I agree, he will be poking his finger in the eye of American citizens. I am starting to believe that he wants to start an impeachment fight.
I think it will be in January..after the lame duck session..he has other fish to try and fry first. The GOP will have a strategy..Cruz will make sure of it..Mitch will have to go along, or get out of the way..
Now THAT’s what I like. Have you seen Cruz’s 10 point plan? Wow. He should just go behave like the Majority Leader he is / should be.
:-)
We can agree on that!
Senator Lindsey Graham, the Republican who won re-election in South Carolina.
What the heck is wrong with the voters of SC? They know old amnestygraham is trying to shove illegals in their jobs.
