Staffers from the Justice Departments Civil Rights Division will monitor polling places in 28 jurisdictions in 18 states today, to make sure theres no attempt to prevent minorities, the disabled, the illiterate and non-English-speakers from voting.
In the general election in 2012, federal monitors watched the polls in 51 jurisdictions in 23 states; and in the 2010 midterm, federal observers fanned out to 30 jurisdictions in 18 states.
Although state and local governments administer elections, the Civil Rights Division is charged with enforcing the federal voting rights laws that protect the rights of all eligible citizens to cast ballots on Election Day, the Justice Department announced on Monday.

Mississippi does not appear to be on the list for the first time since the 1964
The 28 jurisdictions with in-person poll monitors on Nov. 4 include four in Florida (Duval, Hillsborough, Lee and Orange Counties); three in Ohio (Cuyahoga, Hamilton, and Lorain Counties); two in California (Alameda and Napa Counties); two in Georgia (Fulton and Gwinnett Counties); two in Nebraska (Colfax and Douglas Counties); two in South Dakota (Charles Mix and Shannon Counties); two in Texas (Harris and Waller Counties); and one each in Arizona (Maricopa County), Illinois (Chicago), Kansas (Finney County), North Carolina (Robeson County), New Jersey (Bergen County), New Mexico (Cibola County), New York (Orange County), Pennsylvania (Lehigh County), South Carolina (Richlan

I suspect these are the 18 states with the highest concentrations of "minorities, the disabled, the illiterate and non-English-speakers."

Mississippi isn’t on the list (friends of Thad, I reckon?), and has the highest percentage of blacks of any state. But it’s probably some quid pro quo for Thad for his help in turning out the rat vote.

Wonderful, I see California is on the list, I guess it means that they make sure that no one fraudulently keeps Illegals from voting for demonrats and uncontrolled spending.

Why would the DOJ come to Mississippi, bennie thompson is in no danger of losing. The 3 incumbent Republican congressmen are not seriously challenged by a minority or democrat. I don’t believe the DOJ is excited about our amendment to make hunting and fishing a right, they probably don’t like though. If they sent a bunch of feds in to monitor The US Senate race they might inadvertantly undo some of the damage done to Mississippi Republicans by the NRSC, the barbours and the cochran campaign. But I’m sure the DOJ will be participating in future Mississippi campaigns.

Feds Watching for Voting Fraud and Discrimination in 18 States...
Staffers from the Justice Departments Civil Rights Division [eric holder] will monitor polling places in 28 jurisdictions in 18 states today, to make sure theres no attempt to prevent minorities,
the disabled, the illiterate and non-English-speakers from voting. Am I the only one who sees that there is something fundamentally and fatally wrong with this systemic corrosion of the body politick?
The current criminal political leadership of the United States was elected by the ignorant, the mentally deficient, the illiterate, the indolent and the illegal alien illegal-voters.
Those elected criminals want to override our flawed Constitution with their version of a permanent political CF.
And they seem to be getting away with it.

Vanita Gupta, a longtime civil rights lawyer, deputy legal director of the ACLU and director of its Center for Justice, will be appointed acting head of the division Wednesday by Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr., administration officials said.Isn't this the DOJ lawyer-criminal who was censured by a federal judge for blatant criminal fraud in New Orleans?

My only problem, minor by comparison, before I go vote, is identifying the candidates, ignoring their creative campaign BS,
and actually identify the single issue morons, the femenists, the pro-sodomy, the enviro fascists, the pro-criminal alien, the spend til it hurts, the anti-job ignoramus candidates...Toughest part of my voting process...
