Mia Love having a near-death experience has nothing to do with a supposed fatwa by Mormon Elders against black women or whatever the theory is. The CD is what, 80% Mormon? Love came within 0.5% or so of defeating old-line Mormon Jim Matheson in 2012; what, did the Mormons only order like 49% of voters to vote for the Democrat? (Love came closer to winning than John Swallow did, despite the CD being less Republican iunder the 2012 lines than proor to redistricting. And this time she won by like 50-47; did the Mormons order only 47% of voters to vote for the RAT?
The race was close because (i) the CD isn’t as Republican as its PVI (McCain got 56%, not around 70% like Romney got), and (ii) Love took some positions that did not endear her to the district ‘s voters.
I’m sleepy.
NY-25, 100% in, rat Slaughter up by less than 1000. If only whatshername had rematched this year.
Mia Love’s near defeat was a fly on the apple pie. I do think that she’s too unconventional for many old-line rural Mormons, while many in the Salt Lake City area remained true to the ‘Rats.
I hope she runs for statewide office (after Hatch retires, for example), as I think she’d play better statewide and ‘Rats won’t run a serious candidate.
