Happy Election Day everyone! I figured I'd go ahead and get the election day thread started. Polls open on the east coast in a little less than an hour.
Please be sure to post observations of interest if you went to the polls today.
ABCs SHUSHANNAH WALSHE: Democratic Connecticut Gov. Dan Malloys re-election campaign has filed suit to extend voting hours in Hartford, asserting that 12 polling stations failed to open on time as required by state law. The campaign will appear at Hartford Superior Court this afternoon in an attempt to have polls remain open in the heavily Democratic city one hour later — until 9 p.m. Eastern. In their filing, the campaign says at least some of the polling places in the city of Hartford opened at 6 a.m. without voter lists and that delayed voting in some locations for between 30 and 90 minutes. They say Malloy, himself, had to wait for about 20 minutes to vote in the city that went about 90 percent Democratic in the last election.
Chicago Proper and the weather is good voting weather.
I think electing the most conservative candidate of 2 is the best option.
Lying to yourself that not voting “on principle” thereby electing the more liberal candidate as a reasonable option is both and delusional and self defeating.
WOW!! Those buttholes have it down to a T!!! Like clockwork every election cycle it’s the same crap. When are the Republicans going to play the same song and dance!!!
Vote for a liberal, you are a liberal. Thats how life works. If you kill, you are a killer. If you fish, you are a fisherman. if you cook food, you are a cook.
But you are what you vote for. Lib, Rino or conservative. And we are in a country with more than 2 ballot choices and a write in. Ergo, your choice is what it is.
Excuses don’t matter a bit. Don’t complain about your choices. Make’em and own’em.
Or can we assume it was the Dems who really took out Cantor?
We have Emmanuel Cleaver as our House Rep. in Jackson County, Missouri (Kansas City area). Jacob Turk has been running against him for the past 4 elections at least. I’m really hoping it works this year but we have some voter intimidation going on. Turks workers are being harassed in the urban areas. Very frustrating!
If you wish to tilt at windmills, by all means, knock yourself out.
Don’t worry about me. I vote conservative and can look at myself every day without being ashamed of my votes.
Unfortunately it’s people like you who elected Barack Obama.
How proud does that make you feel?
I didn’t cast my vote for Barack Obama. Ergo I didn’t help elect him. If you think my vote was counted for Barack Obama, then please file a complaint for election fraud. Otherwise, your claim has no basis.
You treat being obtuse as it’s an attribute.
If you find something untrue about my post, please point it out. Better yet, drop it. Because I could not care less what a RINO voter thinks.
EXTREMELY.
Ergo your vote reduced the most competitive candidate opposed to obama by one. Simple.
I’m just not sure I want to go here because you’re obviously a very stubborn man. BUT say every conservative out there decides not to vote for the Republican because he/she’s too moderate.
Tell me what we end up with?
And of course we would have no right to complain because hey, we didn’t vote for the liberal - those other people did.
Norm:
Ouch.
And thanks.
FRegards, RD
You should do whatever you want to. Just do not complain when your choices result in more liberalism. Because they were your choices to make and you got exactly what you voted for.
Lets go through this step by step:
1. Obama won by X votes.
2. You and others of the so called principled voters decided to stay home, that number of votes Y.
3. Y > X.
But go ahead, pretend you have made things better in this country by putting assisting a full blown leftist into office and deny you had anything to do with the end results. But hey, at least you have your “principles”.
Oh? I stayed home? Really? Because I didn’t. So your whole thing is crap from step 1.
