Happy Election Day everyone! I figured I'd go ahead and get the election day thread started. Polls open on the east coast in a little less than an hour.
Please be sure to post observations of interest if you went to the polls today.

A surprise happened in American Samoa, the Democrat non-voting Delagate to Congress was defeated. I don’t know who the winning candidate is, though.
From what I have read, liberals HATE Crescent Hardy which means I like him.
It is Abraham, the 3rd place guy conceded.
Hawaii, F them. I feel bad for the Duke. I’d probably feel worse if it had been clear Mufi had caused the rat to win but Ige was near 50%.
ME-2 is official, great gain of a 1994 loss. 2 seats in New England. I wish it was 5 (NH-2, CT-5, MA-9). All within 10 points those loses. In MA-6 the queer RINO got blown out by 14.
Hope the rats don’t steal all those close races in Cali, I especially want Johnny T to hold on in what would be the district with the smallest Romney % to elect a Republican.
In a GOP/GOP race in Cali Steve Knight (conservative AFAIK) beats Tony Strickland. Ironic, Strickland would have won a rematch with Brownley this year.
CA-31 is also a photo finish, looks like a narrow rat gain. So they narrowly gain, apparently, FL-2 (damn), CA-31 and it looks like NE-2 as well. Damn damn damn. So close to partying like it’s 1938.
GOP leaning FL-2 and NE-2 will be at the top of the 2016 target list. Minor blemishes, the biggest black eye is the election of Wolf in PA and the fraud/Liartarian vote stealing in VA. Also bad, the possible election of the illegal RINO/rat fusion ticket for Alaska Governor. CO Governor, close loss. And no leg gains for Illinois Republicans.
I bet Slaughter would have lost if that strong candidate from last time had rematched.
Iowa is one fairly narrow House race away from an all GOP Congressional delegation (both Houses) for the first time since the 50’s.
If I’m not mistaken we’re pretty assured of at least tying the 246 from 1946 in the House. At 243 (not counting Ose) which, plus the 2 seats in LA going to runoff which should be sure wins, plus WA-4 GOP/GOP race (Newhouse (Rino?) leads Didier) = 246.
If at least Ose, Johnny T, DeMaio, or McSally hold on, that gives that gives us 247. Then we can say “Hoover” as in there hasn’t been this many Republicans in the House since Hoover was President.
Senate will probably be 54, not counting if a little *itch is gonna switch to the winners. Should be 55, damn Virginia stolen. Actually should be 56, damn NH.

Emily Cain was NOT expected to win easily, it was thought to be close all the way, I gave the GOP the edge.
There was an article this morning. I was in a hurry and did not have time to mark it. It basically said that thousands who were not eligible to vote under US laws-—Voted in Virginia. It seems that these ID’s are very available to illegals. So your new law did absolutely nothing to stop that. Democrats were in full force to make sure illegals had the ID they needed to vote.

Apparently, the winner in American Samoa is the daughter of the late former Gov. Peter Tali Coleman, the only successful GOPer, Aumua Amata Coleman Radewagen. She’s been a perennial candidate for Congress for 2 decades, this being her 11th time she’s run, which obviously must be a record to being finally successful.

This will make her the first female Pacific Islander/Polynesian Republican member of Congress (in fact, she may be the first Polynesian woman elected to Congress, period. I believe the women elected from Hawaii were all of Asian descent and the woman representing Guam is White).
I still think there were mountains of fraud in this election too. It is just more difficult for them to pull it off in these races and the numbers were much more out of their favor. I do believe, for instance, North Carolina and Virginia were fraud ridden.

David Ige only got 49%, so Aiona could’ve theoretically won with all the 3rd party votes. But Ige and Mufi are both dems so anyone voting for them would never support Aiona anyhow.
Mufi is a moderate dem, his voters are ones HI Republicans need to win. Aiona would have taken the majority of them, but Ige would have gotten more than enough to go over 50%.
Braley’s seat, under the old lines, was held by Jim Nussle ,until he ran for Governor in 2006.
There’s a difference between requirements for registering to vote and voting.
The VA voter registration form requires a verifiable SS#. ID required for registration is less stringent than for voting. I.e., a bank statement or utility bill will do. Initially that was to verify the voter’s address to determine their precinct, congressional district, etc., but no requirement to establish their actual ID beyond SS#. We don’t have same day registration in VA. Voters have to register a few weeks before the election (IIRC, this year the deadline was Oct. 15. It used to be 29 days). Any registered voter then has to produce photo IDs from the more stringent list to get a ballot to vote.
I wish you had saved/bookmarked the article. Honestly, I find it very difficult to believe that many thousands of illegals voted in VA’s election yesterday. To accomplish an illegal vote, one has to have a verifiable SS#, and some govt- or institution-issued ID (driver’s license, passport, etc.). And, no one was prepared for a close statewide election in the Old Dominion, either.
It’s not impossible for those determined to cheat, but not as easy as it once was, either. The photo ID law passed in VA thanks to retiring Cong. Jim Moran’s idiot son/campaign mgr, who was caught on tape tutoring on how to vote illegally. The legislature is also working to eliminate ‘double voters,’ i.e., those who live in nearby MD and will cross the river to vote in VA.
western rural NH goes strong DEM in GOV and SEN races, fighting the trend. A bit baffling to me. These are not MASS transplants. Are they uppity peaceniks?
