Happy Election Day everyone! I figured I'd go ahead and get the election day thread started. Polls open on the east coast in a little less than an hour.
Please be sure to post observations of interest if you went to the polls today.
Mia Love finally leading in Utah. Looks like that was a false alarm. Still close, but I think she wins.
Elise is a charmer, and strongly pro-life and pro-Constitution.
You might know she will be the youngest woman, of either party, to become a congresswoman.
Since elections have consequences, the winners better be aggressive about fundamentally transforming the existing criminal delusion about our "flawed" Constitution. An unmistakable smack down is certainly deserved.
Sounds like Cruz wants to be aggressive and McConnell doesn't want to upset Obama. I go with Cruz!
That’s great, I like her a lot.
They’re counting awful slow. Only 16% reporting so far. Every other district is 50-60%.
Yeehaw...lay that pipe!
I can’t believe this.
I’m in shock.
Well hi ugly, it’s been awhile. How ya been?
If Obozo goes "full Mussolini"
Respond by going "Full Eisenhower" on illegal aliens
Operation Wetback - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Wetback
Operation Wetback was an immigration law enforcement initiative created by Director of the Immigration and Naturalization Service Joseph Swing.
The program was implemented in May of 1954 by the U.S. Attorney General Herbert Brownell, and utilized special tactics to combat the problem of illegal border crossing and residence in the United States by Mexican nationals.
Ultimately, the program came as a result of pressure from the Mexican government to stop illegal entry of Mexican laborers in the United States based largely on the Bracero Program
I cannot believe Ernst’s margin of victory. What an incredible candidate
Are we having a reunion, here?
:)
I’m worried that I’m dreaming.
Think WSJ has MN in wrong place !
What's not to like? :-P
Yeah, sorta. When I first met ugly on FR my computer ran on coal.
MIA LOVE IS THE FIRST BLACK REPUBLICAN WOMAN ELECTED TO THE HOUSE
SHE HAS WON
“I cannot believe Ernsts margin of victory. What an incredible candidate.
After Ernst won her primary, my first thought was “Oh no, another Sharron Angle-style candidate”
I was wrong. Way wrong. Joni Ernst can walk the walk and talk the talk.
But what I think her great appeal was (outside of Braley being a gaffe-prone candidate) was that she appeared to be honest, straightforward and sincere.
I suspect that a lot of people in Iowa (maybe more so in the rural areas) looked at that and thought “Finally, someone I can not only vote for but relate to as well”.
