Happy Election Day everyone! I figured I'd go ahead and get the election day thread started. Polls open on the east coast in a little less than an hour.

Please be sure to post observations of interest if you went to the polls today.

As of this post time:

Senate: Republicans have locked up 50 seats, ahead in 3 more
Senate: Democrats have locked up 42 seats, ahead in 2 more

House: Republicans have locked up 212 seats, ahead in 23 more
House: Democrats have locked up 124 seats, ahead in 55 more

Governors: Republicans have locked up 24 seats, ahead in 8 more
Governors: Democrats have locked up 13 seats, ahead in 2 more


I would like to invite folks to use the Los Angeles Times Senate, House, and Nationwide State Gubantorial candidate breakdowns.  It's a fairly good indicator of where things are headed.

Note: Make sure ALL is selected.  Then you can click on Senate, House, or Governors

These categories show current wins and gains.  (Ex: Republican = 44 +4 / Democrats = 38 +2)  Note: + denotes leading in that many races in addition to already locked up

Hell, I don’t care if the Republicans aren’t 100% conservative. This was worth it just for the lamentation we’ll be hearing from the left tomorrow.

Imagine DU skunks getting drunk or stoned out of their gourds trying to forget about this.

Imagine Harry Reid having to lose his position as majority leader.

Imagine the media trying to spin this.

Tomorrow will be a good day. I sure wish we didn’t elect Barack Obama as governor in Pennsylvania, but we at least moved the needle in the right direction as a country.
