Mainstream GOP sees tipping point vs. insurgent candidates (Tea Party Are Losers)

For the Republican Party’s leadership, taking control of the U.S. Senate might not even be the sweetest part of a victory in 2014. With growing confidence as Election Day approaches, Republican leaders are preparing to argue that broad GOP gains in the House and Senate would represent a top-to-bottom validation of their party’s mainline wing. Having taken a newly heavy-handed approach to the primary season this year, the top strategists of the Republican coalition say capturing the majority would set a powerful precedent for similar actions in the future — not just in Senate and congressional races, but in the presidential primary season as well.

National Republicans managed this year to snuff out every bomb-throwing insurgent who tried to wrest a Senate nod away from one of their favored candidates. They spent millions against baggage-laden activists such as Matt Bevin, the Louisville investor who mounted a ham-fisted challenge to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and Mississippi state Sen. Chris McDaniel, the conservative upstart who imperiled a safe seat by nearly ousting longtime Sen. Thad Cochran.

...If this fresh tack leads to victory, Republicans expect that aggressive posture (warring on Conservative Tea Party) will carry over into 2016.

Heading out to vote ...

Keeping my focus local. Maybe one day some successful local yocals will truly replace the RINO’s in charge of the party.

As my profile page says...voting in a RINO who will be the trader (traitor) of your God given Rights, is worse than voting for the democrat. At least with the democrat you really know what you are gonna get in the box of Cracker Jacks.

Why so many want to go on enabling them to abuse the American citizen is beyond my understanding. Perhaps it is because I have already understood there is no easy road out of this mess and even with a “republican congress,” things are about to get worse. Every little or big thing that goes wrong will be republican’s fault, 0bama will feel enabled to rule by full-bore fiat, and the next two years will be painted as republican failures. This will leave open 2016 to a new dictator.

The GOPe doesn’t have the propaganda machine needed for the next two years, they don’t have communication channels, they don’t have the media....this default landslide is no real win if there’s no action to right the ship.

A party of One.

The translation in this article from Establishment Leaders in the GOP is: if the GOP wins the Senate tomorrow, the GOP will declare that a victory over Conservatives and will repudiate the TEA party and drive it from the party.

After which, they will lose mightily in 2016 when the entire base stays home.

In all practicality, Washington is ALREADY a Uniparty.

McConnell just said that investigations into wrongdoing in the Obama regime are ‘not a priority’; translation: they are going to be stopped.

So say goodbye to any justice in the IRS Scandal, Fast & Furious, Benghazi, ObamaCare etc., etc.

More of the same thing we now have under Reid, with a GOP stamp of approval.

Sorry, I did lump your tag with a couple of others.

My hoped for message to the group, having been around long enough and volunteering for genuine conservatives who have lost and others who have gone on to win later but no one of those who gave up after a bruising fight and became so disenchanted never again engaged, had no chance to win, they merely surrendered!

I do understand the emotion but politics is a long running race, with occasionally wins after sprints but when any one wants to run that I've chatted with, I always tell them their race is not the end product but a prototype to be repeated again until they win.

I was hearing lots of that yesterday and especially after conservatives lost in primaries.

Those protest votes for others than one of the two parties in DC, staying home or writing in their dog's name in the blank, are never going to get what they hope for, especially by doing the above or anything like it.

Like it or not, there are only two operative parties in DC (well we do have a so-called "Independent" and one Socialist but both team up with the RAT party) and that's what we have to work with, at least it will be thus in my lifetime short of some unforeseen national event (and that's not happening with the entrenched "ME generation!)

Should they do that?

The couple of dozen FR purists from Mississippi, stayed home, they feel good about themselves, and since the pubbies now control the house and senate {my goal}, we will see how Ted Cruz and the real conservatives hold the squishes feet to the fire.

I never supported Thad Cochran, and donated to McDaniel's Campaign, but he wasn't on the general election ballot.

If you think last night changes anything your just delusional.

RINO hunting season NEVER ends, and we are constantly adding more folks to the ranks. The RINO’s WILL become extinct or migrate over to the democrat party.

Im simply giddy with anticipation over what turttle boy is gonna do to ram through the socialist agenda in the senate. I will take pleasure in rubbing your (and others) noses in the shit that is thad and mitch. You dont get to come back from your support of Thad. You may as well abandon this screen name and adopt another.

Why? Because of your rants?

There is no joy in your pathetic life, you should join the du, and cry all the time.

Piss off, mate.
