$7,500 seems a bit low. Shake down artists (like Rev. Al, etc.) can usually get a few million. I guess it doesn’t pay to be an honest citizen.

I routinely carry a Spyderco Endura. NYC would throw me under the jail. It’s absurd. The 2nd Amendment doesn’t say “except for knives some random government’s fools deem too scary.”
He should be able to sue everyone involved for civil rights violations. It should be painful to attempt an illegal prosecution like this lightly.
Most of my pocket knives are lock-blade, but none would open by gravity or any amount of wrist flicking.
I have never heard of such a silly a$$ed law. A lock-blade prevents a pocket knife from folding up on you in use, it’s nothing but a safety feature.
Why would free men allow themselves to be governed by the nincompoops that would write such a law, much less enforce it?
Like noise suppressors for firearms. The media makes them out to be tools of assassins -- a "silencer" will let you kill people in total secrecy!! In fact, suppressors are about ear protection more than anything else. And the Left opposes them.
A lot of police officers apparently are ignorant of the difference between folding knives/switchblade knives/gravity knives.
If a knife looks “dangerous” they will arrest you. The absence of criminal intent isn’t a deterrent if they deem if you carry the “wrong” knife on your person.
There is as much fear of knives as there is of guns in this country.

And no one has been able to figure out why they did it. There was not reason given when the 1934 National Firearms Act was passed.

I know what you mean. Anti-gun England even requires suppressors at shooting ranges, or so I’ve been told.
Some of the states are wising up and allowing there use for hunting now, I think Texas is one of them.
Knife control laws are based on the silly notion people are too ignorant to use knives as tools and its better to keep them out of their hands.
Let’s extend that profound logic to pliers and hammers, too. They can also kill.
