‘The president didn’t care about it enough to make a simple phone call’
A group of politicians’ efforts to secure the release of Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi from a Mexican jail paid off Friday night. California Rep. Dana Rohrabacher says President Obama was “AWOL” throughout the process.
The Republican Congressman told The Washington Times on Saturday that he and California RepublicanRep. Ed Royce, former New MexicoGov. Bill Richardson, and Arizona RepublicanRep. Matt Salmon took it upon themselves to fight for Mr. Tahmooressi when President Obama did not.
“The president, who is also the commander in chief, didn’t do his job,” Mr. Rohrabacher said. “There is a lack of concern for this man, for this American hero who served our country. As commander in chief he showed a total disdain and non-interest in an American hero who served us in Afghanistan and a total disregard for the fact that he was suffering.”
Mr. Rohrabacher said that while the Counsel General in Tijuana and members of congress were mobilized to try to save Mr. Tahmooressi, Mr. Obama had gone “AWOL” in the battle.
“The president not stepping forward was a slap in the face to veterans,” Mr. Rohrabacher said. “The president didn’t care about it enough to make a simple phone call.”

You're absolutely right. Since March when Sgt Tahmooressi was thrown in that Mexican prison 0bama has let tens of thousands of of illegals, supposed "children," into this country but wouldn't lift a finger for this Marine.
BTW, plus 0bama hates our military as well.

This U.S. Marine cannot publicly state anything negative about the empty suit P.O.S. occupying the White House, but the Vets can state, without any reservations, that 0Bamma cares much more about his golf handicap than he gives a crap about the lives and well-being of anyone wearing the military uniform of the USA. 0Bamma went out of his way to encourage thousands of illegals to cross the southern border, but wouldn’t lift a finger to make Mexico a “deal it could not refuse” to get this young man back to the USA. Shame on 0Bamma, and Vets can only wish the absolute worst for him!

Bless this Rep, Fox News, Greta, Montel Williams, and everybody else who did their best for Tahmooressi. Thank God the Marine is safe on US soil.

Some on here have imaginations Obama will create a crisis at the end of his term to stay in power. To do that, he’s got to have the military behind him. They won’t be.
I have one objection to your character description:
he doesn’t care about his golf handicap. He just calls it a scratch and his cohorts go along with it and let him win.

Actually, talk to people in the mil. Many are behind Barry. A minority yes, but a large one. And don’t forget his purge of the officer class as well. He did it for a reason..
Not all our military are opposed to what Barry does and will support whatever he does because some are libs. Sucks, but it ain’t Reagan’s military. We can only hope enough true American soldiers remain if things go bad.
Obama doesn’t like the military in any way shape or form. His secret hope is that they won’t turn on him when he tries to assert his dictatorship. He will be surprised.

As a chess player Obama would be famous for being able to think only one move in advance. He is just not too bright when it comes to consequences. He punishes, disparages & demoralizes any & every group that doesn’t embody his radical leftist ideology...forgetting the day might come when he would need their support.
After all, a coalition of homosexuals, trannies, progs & American Muslims will only get a guy so far. [I don’t include Latinos because polling data says he is falling out of favor with them. Not due to amnesty, either; guess they are just one more group that is tired of Obama’s shallow, obnoxious, narcissistic ways.]

Trying to stay in power past his elected term would be like an act of war against the United States. He would lose that war. There are too many that don’t like him..
True, and it was a deliberate slap in the face to all the honorable veterans who risked their lives to serve this nation.
Nobama and his ilk were otherwise occupied in veterans' issues that matter to them: forcing sensitivity training on the Army to accept transgenders using the bathroom facilities of their choice. Trading 5 of the most vicious Gitmo terrorists in exchange for 1 Army deserter. Important stuff like that.
