Things must be going even worse for the Democrats than the polls suggest. The campaign of incumbent Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., for example, has hit rock bottom.
How else to explain her lame attempt to blame her electoral peril on racism and sexism? Modern illiberals are incapable of thinking their record or their ideas could lead to misfortune.
Landrieu has been in trouble in the polls for weeks now. Indeed, it seems increasingly unlikely she could beat either of her two top Republican challengers head-to-head, although she will almost certainly get the chance against one in a runoff.
Desperate, Landrieu went on NBC News. She allowed that sustained attempts to undermine energy production and thus make things much more expensive for us contributes to President Obama's unpopularity, which, in turn, dampens her own re-election prospects.
But then that's the uphill battle she must fight, Landrieu sighed, because in the South blacks and women have had it hard. She declined to explain how she has been elected three times as a senator by such a collection of unwashed knuckle draggers.

Wow, I can’t imagine she’d say such a thing if she were leading in the polls.
If Bill Cassidy finishes first place in the November 4 vote, not only is she finished, she might not even contest the runoff. That would be a great victory.
It’s the Don Rickles strategy. Insult your audience.
She certainly exposes the DC centric problem with the senate. Republicans are bad enough but the democrats are the source of it.
It worked for that guy in PA. He even dissed his district.
this mary landrue voted for obamacare and will vote for amnesty for illegals .she must be stopped . without her vote obamcare would not have passed
if you all can send support to bill cassidy
Yes send your support to Bill Cassidy
landrue will vote for Amnesty for illegals. she is a socialist monster as are all democrats
Well, it certainly wouldn't get any easier for her if Obama does executive amnesty after the election and before the runoff.
Lets see..there is a (almost) black president, New Orleans has had a black mayor since I don’t know when and she has been elected three times. That proves racism and a glass ceiling for women? She’s several fries short of a happy meal and utterly desperate.
I'm fond of Mr. Guillory's new TV ads in North Carolina and Georgia as well.
What a moron.
Translation of Landrieu Speak:
All you white folks, both men and women, are racists.
All you men folks, both white and black, are misogynists.
So all you black women, vote for me!
“Its the Don Rickles strategy. Insult your audience.”
But Rickles is a commedian, Landreiu is a political hack. There’s the difference.
“If Bill Cassidy finishes first place in the November 4 vote, not only is she finished, she might not even contest the runoff. That would be a great victory”
Hard to believe the RATS wouldn’t opt for the runoff. It gives them time to find, create or make up dirt on Cassidy.
I can’t imagine her bypassing the runoff, hoping against hope, and using every last bit of power and energy in her, that she can squeak out the win as she did vs. Suzanne Terrell who had led until Miss Mary beat the bushes to get out every last 8th ward vote. ‘Course many of those voter are Texans now.
The mayor of NOLA is Mitch Landrieu...Mary’s brother.
Then she will have to contend with the Obamacare rate increases. Her big mouth is glued to the keep-your-doctor and keep-your-plan nonsense.
At least she made Obama’s bag men pay for her vote on ObozoCare..... You remember the “Louisiana Purchase” ....

Here's a man of true grit and a servant's heart who knows full well when road kill needs to go. Our government must have the values we see in Col. Rob Maness to function properly. I hope Louisianans will send him to Washington because hes the real deal heck he fixes his own truck and hell do the same in Washington to fix the broken machine there!

Governor Palins full statement to Real Clear Politics Scott Conroy:
Like a gator in the swamp, Col. Rob Maness may have been seen as sharply lurking, but is now ready to pounce. It is time. This is the election that will be the shocker on Tuesday.
The media bought into the false premise that this is a typical partisan establishment tiff between go-along-to-get-along politicians, Landrieu and Cassidy, and theyre missing the boat. Like that Louisiana alligator who can dominate the swamp, Maness is ready to be on top of D.C.s food chain and devour the crony capitalism that runs wild in government. Status quo politicians like Landrieu had their chance to clean it up, but the establishment has partaken of the grub far too long, and voters know this.
The GOP machine should never have broken promises. They got involved in an open Republican primary because they dont respect the wisdom of the people. They chose their guy, and now as they work against the Maness momentum theyre scurrying around with desperate lies in an attempt to swallow him up. Polls show the "expert" Washington consultants bet on the wrong horse. Their anointed candidate has a long record of liberal votes, many of those votes were quite recent. A survey I saw reveals Cassidy voted with Obama on 35 key votes, and hes even voted for Sen. Landrieu, and dissed Ronald Reagan! Look, its most telling that the political machines deputized one wont even show up at debates to defend his record. No wonder hes slithering down in the polls and this race is slipping away from the GOP. Its because Louisiana voters know they deserve better than Cassidys M.O.
Ive been to Louisiana and seen the momentum Col. Maness is the only conservative in the race and the clearest contrast and strongest pick to take on Mary Landrieu. His real life record of service, work ethic, positive policy ideas and commonsense resonates with voters. Here hes fighting two powerful forces two consummate politicians and both parties establishments yet hes the one showing real strength and keeping it positive. Hell prevail because hes fought and won tougher real life battles.
The momentum IS on Col. Maness side. The Louisiana primary system is the freest in the country and the GOP oppresses that freedom by working against him with false scare tactics and calling this good man a "spoiler" or "vote splitter," and their attempts to shoot him down are backfiring. Louisianans are realizing there is little difference in voting for the two politicians in this race, and theyre looking to make their vote count and actually make a difference. Theyre seeing they have the choice to send Washington a message, and thats why Im confident Louisiana will be the epicenter of a political earthquake on Tuesday with their vote for Rob Maness.
