Document shows feds fear airborne Ebola
WND ^ | 28 October, 2014 | Aaron Klein

In a lengthy document that received nearly no media attention, a U.S. government agency has warned preliminary data shows Ebola is aerostable, meaning it can survive in the air and potentially be transmitted via airborne means.

The document was released in a federal government announcement seeking research proposals from private firms for Ebola treatment and diagnosis tools, including for the rapid disinfection of an “aerosol” version of the virus.

The announcement indicates that despite its public pronouncements to the contrary, the government is concerned the virus can spread through the air via vaporized bodily fluids.

There has been fear a patient can potentially self-vaporize Ebola through a strong sneeze, projectile vomiting or the flushing of a toilet.

The information was contained in a 33-page report released Oct. 24 by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, the Department of Defense’s Combat Support Agency for countering weapons of mass destruction.

The agency report states “preliminary studies indicate that Ebola is aerostable in an enclosed controlled system in the dark and can survive for long periods in different liquid media and can also be recovered from plastic and glass surfaces at low temperatures for over 3 weeks.”

The report says the government is seeking technologies for the “rapid disinfection” of Ebola, including an aerosol version of the virus.

“The technology must prove effective against viral contamination either deposited as an aerosol or heavy contaminated combined with body fluids,” reads the solicitation document.

The document further states Ebola “can survive for long periods in different liquid media and can also be recovered from plastic and glass surfaces at low temperatures for over 3 weeks.”

Obama is handling this like he handled Benghazi.
Do nothing and hope it doesn't get worse.

he’s talking about the 3’ sneeze and that was verified in the Congressional Hearings by CDC Doctors

Oh well.... then by all means it must be true.

Although I've known people who can projectile vomit over three feet, and a SNEEZE can eject miniscule droplets from 20-40 feet.

But.... you go ahead and believe those CDC 'doctors'.

Wrong.
The EXEMPT in the Congress and Obola-the-Undocumented
continued it even after the first deaths of children.

EV-D68 was the first bioWMD planned by the EXEMPT
and Obola to murder Americans (that we know of).

“I was one of the first on FR to make the point about transmission by aerosols.”

But who was the first to predict that it’s due to global warming?

You want aerosol? Just flush an Ebola patient’s vomit and diarrhea down a high-pressure hospital toilet with no lid.

I hope they have sense enough to pour in a quart of bleach, bleach-spray the bowl, and wait ten minutes before they flush, gross as it is. Of course the patient may be spewing every five minutes.

And I hope Ebola virus doesn’t survive municipal sewage treatment.

I was talking about the Republicans who pressed for more info on how it was spread, before that they were claiming it was only spread by direct contact with bodily fluids, which everyone knew was lying.
Please quit trying to change my wording as if I am promoting the CDC...I wasn’t. I was showing that their lies were exposed in the Congressional Hearings a couple of weeks ago...including the aerosol spray of sneezes, coughs, and other droplets that can live on dry surfaces for hours...creating dangers for those coming in contact with the surface even if patient is not longer there.

The 20-40 ft can be correct, however 3’ was all they could get CDC to admit to at the time, but I hear now there is a new report on WND stating more dangers.

It teleports right through walls.

I haven't decided whether simply to tape up aluminum foil, or whether to cover the aluminum foil with a layer of duct tape.

However, when it comes to Ebola, my vote is for caution overkill and a healthy skepticism of today's experts. Am I wrong in believing that I have to ask which expert and on what day?

I don't know whether or not Ebola virus has been tested yet to see if it survives after treatment in municipal sewage treatment plant.
What is known is that it surives longer in moisture/water, and suvives longer in cooler temperatures .
What kills it is exposure to U/V rays, certain chemicals (in various dilutions such as bleach, betadine, iodine, hydrogen peroxide, alcohol, etc.) and dehyration.
I dont think sewage treatment has yet been tested.

The American Association of Physicians has announced they are changing the name of the condition known as Aspergers Syndrome, because too many people make that joke about ass burgers.

From now on, it will be known as Rectle-Sammich Syndrome.

It’s very, very, very important to keep in mind that Ebola is birthed in and created by ... insensitivity.
Conservative insensitivity. So let’s all try to be more sensitive.

“I wanna lead a life of danger. I wanna be an airborne virus.”

The CDC recently revised the distance to six feet from three. Three feet, six feet, is all far too little if you live in a windy area.

Reston is not airborne. Although that was the initial assumption, further analysis of the facility in Reston showed that there were plenty of opportunities for the virus to contaminate clothing and equipment and thus hitch a ride to other rooms in the facility. The facility was not clean.

If you believe the CDC is lying about Ebola, then do you also believe that the scientists and health care workers who have been working on Ebola--including going where there are outbreaks and helping to contain them--for the last 40 years, who are informing the CDC, are also lying?

And if the people who know more than anyone else in the world about Ebola are lying, then what *is* the "truth" and how can anyone know what it is?

Seriously, all this conspiracy-mongering is tedious. I, for one, believe the people who have made a career out of studying Ebola when they say it is not airborne and it is only spread through direct contact (including non-aerosol droplet transmission).

These morons. Anyone with marginal reasoning capabilities figgered this out long ago, that coughing, breathing hard (during workouts, heavy physical exercise) etc., can eject this into the air for short distances.

No scientific study has ever showed that Ebola can be spread in this matter.

Ebola does not infect the respiratory system.

Ebola viruses are several times bigger than viruses that spread by aerosols. They are also fragile and do not survive being dried out like influenza, chickenpox, or measles viruses that do spread in aerosols.

If Ebola could be spread by coughs, sneezes, heavy breathing, it would have spread around the world already. Compare it to influenza, which is thought to spread that way. Influenza only takes weeks to reach every part of the northern hemisphere during flu season.

This article is additional confirmation that some sensationalist journalists are still taking advantage of the fact that some people do not understand the difference between airborne (indirect) and droplet (direct) transmission. Such sensationalism sells news, but it misinforms people.

Efforts to educate people on how Ebola really spreads—through direct contact with infected bodily fluids—are making some progress. I just heard a poll last week that showed that 25% of people still do not understand how Ebola spreads, down from 37% in a previous poll.

All these revisions make us all realize that the CDC or Scientists do not know as much about Ebola as originally claimed.

The report says the government is seeking technologies for the “rapid disinfection” of Ebola, including an aerosol version of the virus.

Gee....I wonder if they’re “seeking technologies” from the PRIVATE sector. Who DOES build solutions and treatments, like that.

Congrats on being a contributor to the “You heard it on FR, first” club. That’s what makes this place to great.
