Sung by Jack's longtime friend, Irish guitar icon Gary Moore who penned the lyrics, I personally consider this one of Jack's most moving melodies and when Jack joins in on the harmonies and takes over with his high tenor on the chorus, I find it aurally stunning. It is Moore's most understated, yet lovely guitar solo consisting of a 4 note phrase repeated only 3 times and reprised on the fade, yet is addictive in it's simplicity. Recorded for the Baker-Bruce-Moore Project's first and only studio album, Around The Next Dream, it was Jack and Gary's brainchild and they completely excluded Ginger Baker from the sessions using instead studio drummer Arran Ahmun and keyboard accompaniment by Tommy Eyre. Ginger just isn't suited for this kind of "in-the-pocket", laid-back carol. Jack plays bass, acoustic guitar and cellos, creating layers of sweeping melody with Gary's peerless power chords, reminiscent of Journey and Van Halen's greatest power ballads.
