GOP's John Cornyn Eyes Immigration Reform 'After We Get Majority'
Newsmax ^ | 10/28/14 | Jennifer G. Hickey

During a debate with Democratic challenger David Alameel, Texas Sen. John Cornyn said it is time to reach a "consensus" on immigration reform by "finding parts that we agree on," including providing children of illegal immigrants access to education.

"I believe education is the way out," the Republican said.

He added that the children of parents "who did not comply with our immigration laws are guilty of nothing," and "it makes no sense to condemn them to a minimum-wage job for the rest of their lives when they could produce so much more, when they could be so much more. They would benefit, their families would benefit, and our nation would benefit."

The debate, hosted by KUVN and Univision 23, was little more than a formality as the latest CBS News/YouGov poll finds Cornyn with a 57 percent to 35 percent lead over Alameel.

The debate marked the latest in a series of comments and remarks that indicate Cornyn's positions on some aspects of immigration reform are softening.

"We have a broken immigration system and I am one who would like to fix it.

This Republican ‘Clown Prince’ seems incapable of realizing the way out for illegal aliens is called “deportation”.

Hispanic “Culture” is based upon a historically toxic mixture of:
1. Spanish culture - with a lot of Islam(Spain was a Muslim slave state for 700 years) mixed in.
2. Stone Age cannibal culture from those Aztec/Mayan/Toltec ‘Indigenous Peoples’ in what is now Central & South America.

Culture is crucial and determinative, and the Hispanic “culture” has nothing positive to bring to America. Note the extreme violence of the Hispanic criminals robbing, raping, and murdering Americans and then remember the Islamic and cannibalistic aspects of “Hispanic Culture”.

Hispanics are from bloodthirsty, violent, and savagely cruel cultures.

Why allow such valueless, dangerous illegal aliens to remain in America?

Thirty years ago they passed an amnesty and immigration bill. They promised to enforce immigration law and to protect our borders and the haven’t done either. There’s nothing to talk about until they’ve given us thirty years of immigration law enforcement and protected borders.

Mr Cornyn is already answering my questions for the next two years.

- GOP wins the Senate.
- they move the ball forward on the liberal agenda, but at 45mph instead of 90mph.
- liberals still heap hate rhetoric on the GOP, using “the Republican Congress” as their campaign foil/scapegoat in 2016 (flashbacks to Clinton doing this in the 90s)
- liberals are driven to polls in ‘16 as a result
- idiot moderates buy the media’s pushed narrative
- conservatives, meanwhile, are disillusioned at what the GOP has done with Congressional control
- 2016 disaster

I’m going to continue to be a thorn in my congresscritters’ paws, but wonder if I’m just wasting my time, spinning my tires. This country is on a train speeding towards a cliff, and no one in power on either side seems interested in pulling the brakes.

These "children" can be up to the age of 30 and as old as 15. Many of them are coming unaccompanied. The Dems and RINOs try to paint the most sympathetic case using toddlers as examples.

If you reward something, you get more of it. There will be more "children" coming. And by the way, what do you do with the parents of these "Dreamers"? They stay of course to take care of the legalized children so as not to break up families. We will have a rolling amnesty. There is no end to this programs using these criteria.

I don’t think John Derbyshire will mind if I post one of his posts from NRO from the Corner:

“Readers who have followed the Senate wrangling over the immigration bill may have been confused by some of the jargon being thrown around. In a spirit of public service, I offer the following brief glossary of some of the terms you have been hearing.

“legalization”-—amnesty

“guest worker plan”-—amnesty

“temporary worker plan”-—amnesty

“path to citizenship”-—amnesty

“out of the shadows”-—amnesty

“comprehensive reform”-—amnesty

I hope that helps clarify things.”

You can now throw in John Cornyn’s tireless deceptive efforts.

I agree with you. I will be writing in my dog’s name rather than vote for Gillespie. I know firsthand that he is an amnesty supporter.

“The stark differences between the parties are...

Well, never-mind.”

That covers it.

They know we're voting against Obama and his cronies because we hate what they are doing to our country,

There's the problem, full stop.
They are capitalizing on a well-believed lie — there is no such thing as a vote against in our [election] system, only a vote for.

and the GOP is our only legitimate option right now.

No, they aren't; so what if voting Constitution Party, or Libertarian, or American Ammo Party won't win — to call them the only legitimate option is to concede to them that pushing unacceptable candidates [like Romney or McCain] legitimizes that candidate. The election clearly repudiated that: the failure to motivate the Republican's base proves that the GOP stamp doesn't suddenly make the unacceptable electable.

A silver lining, I guess:

If there’s a vote on this crap, we get to see exactly where everyone stands. And then we get to exact punishment during primary season. We will not forget.

There is another way — it involves realizing that there is an invasion going on and responding appropriately.

The estimates are that there's between 11m and 40m illegal aliens in the US, given that the population is 316m this gives us a range of 3.5% to 12.7% of the population being illegal aliens — how much would it need to be an invasion? Moreover, how much is the they will overwhelm us point? 20%? (That's 1 in 5.) 25%? (That's 1 in 4.)

I have been afraid of this. The Republicans win and go the WRONG direction.

This has been obvious since before Romney — and the shenanigans in the primaries and at the RNC proved it beyond doubt in my mind.

You're right, of course. I was just anticipating the "lesser of two evils" and "not voting GOP is the same as voting Dem" arguments, I guess.

I'm just so f'n sick of this. And so f'n pissed at what they are doing to us and our country.
