If Thurston turns TEA, won't he be thrown out of all the best polo clubs and tiddlywink tournaments as a social pariah for having functioning brain cells? Also, I think that would be "sheer self-contained id" rather than ego that he operates on.
Senility sucks.
That's a well posed question, Norm. It strikes right at the heart of the fear based illogic that has infected so many in the conservative community.
Hindsight has been said to be "20/20", but it's astonishing how many conservatives fail to see that we could have kept the Republican party on the straight and narrow by rejecting weak kneed RINOs as far back as the 80s.
Had conservatives begun turning their backs on such ideological traitors back then, there never would have been a Bush I and II. Dole would never have been foisted upon us as our nominee, and John McCain would have lasted only a term or two in the Senate.
Mitt? He would still be best remembered for rescuing the Olympics. Chances are he wouldn't have even entered politics, had the political climate on our side been different.
Instead, our side would have groomed a whole generation of Republican reps in the mold of Ronald Reagan. Consequently, we wouldn't even be having this discussion today, and the pestilent left would be orders of magnitude weaker than what it is now.
We certainly wouldn't be suffering under the dictatorship of a radical Marxist like Obama.
So yeah --- let's just keep voting RINO, because they suck less than the Dems.
Absolute insanity.
