I still maintain the GOP doesn't want the Senate majority. They'll be happy as clams holding 49 seats.

That's just plain silly.

If the GOP-E want to marginalize the conservatives like Cruz, as conservatives believe, then they would want to have a majority large enough to not require their votes. The GOP-E is desperate to have as large a majority as possible, so they don't need to listen to Cruz.

The belief that Republicans don't want to be in the majority is simply bonkers - being in the majority leads to being able to set the agenda, and that leads to control of re-electability. And getting reelected is really the only thing ANY politician cares about!

Republicans just want the perks of getting that Lobbyist money without having any of the responsibility of actually governing.

As long as Obama is sitting in the Oval Office, I maintain the GOP wants to avoid majority status. They know the bright lights of media hate will be even more directly shined upon them since they'll own the responsibility at that level, yet the perks of membership in the House of Lords don't change. So, sorry... I disagree.

Exactly, in fact the GOP leadership admitted this is their desire. They have stated that they hope to win additional seats in the house in order to be able to marginalize the conservatives that they have to continually battle....

The GOP is toast and they deserve to be toast.
