Demonstrators at Missouri State University who were met with racial slurs and gun gestures during a silent march protesting fatal police shootings are receiving apologies and support from the school.

University officials said in a statement Tuesday that the school does not condone or tolerate the harassment of people who were exercising their free speech rights during the protest through Saturday's homecoming festivities, The Springfield News-Leader reported....

Yep - push hard for a reaction, then reap the fallout. Funny how we grew up with the "sticks and stones can break my bones, but names can never hurt me" attitude and these days it's "protest and destruction is my free speech right, but name calling is horrific".

We have truly fallen into the looking glass.

So, the protestors are allowed free speech, but the students being harrassed are not?

It really is a matter of perspective...From the Ferguson protestors perspective, there is no bad time to push their agenda...for the Missouri State people, they may have felt that the Missouri State homecoming was not the proper time or venue for that type of protest...with the approaching GJ findings, the protestors may be running out of time to protest and are getting desperate to press their claims...in a free society, when is enough, enough...I believe that we will soon find out...
