A doctor in New York City who recently returned from treating Ebola patients in Guinea tested positive for the Ebola virus Thursday, becoming the citys first diagnosed case.
The doctor, Craig Spencer, was rushed to Bellevue Hospital on Thursday and placed in isolation while health care workers spread out across the city to trace anyone he might have come into contact with in recent days. A further test will be conducted by the federal Centers for Disease Control to confirm the initial test.
While officials have said they expected isolated cases of the disease to arrive in New York eventually, and had been preparing for this moment for months, the first case highlighted the challenges surrounding containment of the virus, especially in a crowded metropolis.

Toxoplasma Gondii. I’ve long suspected it’s behind Democrat behavior. They’ve lost the ability to recognize predatory behavior.
What the hell is the matter with this guy?
Why didn’t he quarantine himself for a few weeks?
Idiot.
.
“I realize youre joking. But there are noted behavioral abnormalities in ebola patients. I wonder if the urge to be social is one way it spreads itself. Hmmm”
I got that from the thread on the nurse that jumped on the airliner. Others also said similar comments to yours, that maybe it triggers an instinct to want to be in crowds. I think the word is gregarious, like herd animals when they feel threatened.
Possibly move this to Breaking News?
They should run an airline for medical personnel, mission workers etc. ‘only’ coming out of the hot zones, isolate them on landing until they’re cleared.
This guy knew he was handling Ebola patients....there’s too many healthcare workers NOT taking responsibility for their decisions.
According to Marc Siegal on Fox News, the doctor didn’t feel good for the last few days, so let me understand something, he didnt feel good for DAYS yet he went bowling last night??
I hope Drudge or one of his people sees that!
Now things get interesting. New York is close for the elite. Praying for the doctor
I bet he did and the CDC said something to the effect, “Oh, you’re fine. Go out and have a good time! We’ll call you if we find out anything. In the mean time, have fun!”
CPUSA stooges President Hussein Ebola and Mayor Warren Wilhelm Hemorrhagic Fever have REALLY screwed the pooch this time.
You would think SOMEBODY in FEDGOV would be tracking who is coming back into the USA from West Africa, ESPECIALLY DOCTORS WHO HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH EBOLA PATIENTS.
Its imperative that PARASITE IMBECILES be prevented from voting, because this is the result.
Why can’t these people be quarantined for 3 weeks at a holding facility after they leave EBOLA countries?
Obola bowling balls? That could be the next big fad!
Four years ago I caught the H1n1 flu. My fever hit 103 in 12 hours after the first symptoms.
If we do that somebody’s going to be offended!
...”why did a doctor not know better and isolate himself?”....
Society today is self-centered...Dr’s and Medical people are not exempt, though we’d like to (falsely) think they should know better. Even many who “serve” the public in some fashion or another often do so for how it makes them feel.
We should not be trusting people as was once possible....
Stocked up on Liposomal vitamin C, colloidal silver, garlic for the season.
I though Chuck the Schmuck Schumer said this couldn’t happen in New York, only Texas (because they don’t have a genuine retired space shuttle)...
