In a part of town near where I live, when it's winter, folks pull up to the (small) grocery store and leave their engines running while they go in and do their shopping. Too dang cold to come back to a cold car.

May have something to do with being where all the cops and firemen (mostly military vets) and their families shop. Maybe there's a sporting goods store's worth of sidearms under all those winter jackets.

My key/ignition switch is so worn that while the truck is running, I can leave it in neutral, set the parking brake, pull my keys out, hop out, lock the doors and head into the store for smokes and coffee.

Safety recall? Deadly crash waiting to happen? No, sir. It's a value-added feature, I say!
