Nope. Elect conservatives. Cant fathom why so few people on a conservative site oppose the idea.

” We now have to look at our former hero as a complete moron because all his speeches, actions and policies clearly were in error.”

Yeah, we must abandon all principle, and vote for a RINO, because he will slow down the destruction (Even though the RINOS have all destroyed the Republican party, and conservatism within the party) “Voodoo economics” doncha know......

I think it is selfish of those damn purists to want to stop the destruction when clearly they should just slow it down.

What if people like their destruction and want to keep it? I never considered what value destruction brings to America. But now that I think about it, it does employ a lot of RINOS that would otherwise be unemployable. If we were to simply stop it through conservative governance, what would they do?

No, clearly we have to just slow it down so RINOS can maintain empoyment.

I am as fed up with do-nothing liberal RINOs as anyone, but you have to think logically about this. The way to fight RINOs is by running conservative candidates and voting for them in the PRIMARIES. That’s how we got Ted Cruz, among others. Once we get to a general election, however, the only logical choice is to vote for the Republican, period.

Voting third party or not voting at all in a general election is not going to “teach the establishment Republicans a lesson”, and it will certainly guarantee a result that none of us want, namely ensuring that the Democrats have enough representatives to constitute a ruling majority. Unless you have a plan to create a viable alternative party (which I would welcome, by the way), the only rational plan is to attempt to purify the party in the primaries while voting party line in the general. Anything else is just emotionalism in action, which I thought was a liberal, not conservative trait.

Find me a single flaw in this logic.

“If you keep doing the same thing for 30 years and end up with a more liberal party than when you began, who is now fully supportive of leftist policies on immigration/borders/homosexuality/marriage ect, you should stop doing that”

Just one.

And for any lurkers reading, I would like to point out that throughout this thread, just like every other I have brought it up on since it happened, not a single person demanding we vote RINO will even touch the issue of their promise to give us Amnesty if they are given control.

Not one. Why do you all suppose that is? Shame?

I don’t throw a tantrum and refuse to vote if a conservative isn’t on the ballot.

Hey, I despise republican leadership but I will happily pull the lever for any republican I can. Voting democrat for any reason? I would prefer beheading by ISIS.

There is one obvious flaw there: The only thing that conservatives have been doing the same for the last 30 years (for the most part) is NOT running serious primary opponents. It is only since the recent advent of the Tea Party that conservatives have gotten serious about opposing their own party, and their successes have ALL come as a result of successful primary challenges. Name one Tea Party candidate who won in a general election by running as anything other than a Republican.

I'm with you 100% in spirit, but until someone builds a party machine to equal the existing Republican mechanism voting for anyone other than the Republican in a general election will accomplish absolutely nothing positive, and will only lead to more Democrats being elected. It's not complicated - that's the only possible outcome, unfortunately.

That's why the only rational strategy is to use the primary system to change the party from within. It's also important to get involved in the internal party machinations, beginning at the caucus level. If enough conservatives got involved in the party itself, instead of sitting in the corner and pouting by casting meaningless protest votes, things would change.

You’ll still get a rat. Just a cloaked rat.

I'm skeptical.

What's the track record of candidates we've had to hold our noses to vote for, so as not to be overpowered by the stench of Rinocrat?

1992...HW pi$$ed away a Desert Storm approval rating, lost to Bubba.

1996...Bob Dole, famously tagged as the tax collector for the welfare state.

2008...John McCain...first to go nuclear on fellow Repubs, but famously said we need not fear a Barack "no middle name" Obama presidency.

Mitt Romney...again went nuclear on fellow Repubs, went limp on Obama.

Those who say we need to hold our noses and vote for the Rinocrat need to show when that's been a successful strategy.

Why vote for light beer?

I don’t throw tantrums, I just point out the truth. If you don’t see it, I can’t help you.

The counter-spin is obviously “Yes, the Obama Administration is THAT bad.”

OK, so we all clearly hear what you think SHOULDN'T be done. Therefore, let's cut right to the chase: What is your brilliant plan for defeating Democrats, getting true conservatives elected, and vanquishing RINOs? We know you disagree with our input, so what would you do? And don't answer that by just reiterating what you wouldn't do.
