Early voting in Illinois got off to a rocky start Monday, as votes being cast for Republican candidates were transformed into votes for Democrats.
Republican state representative candidate Jim Moynihan went to vote Monday at the Schaumburg Public Library.
I tried to cast a vote for myself and instead it cast the vote for my opponent, Moynihan said. You could imagine my surprise as the same thing happened with a number of races when I tried to vote for a Republican and the machine registered a vote for a Democrat.

What a coinkidink. Let me say right now that I don’t believe in coincidences.
It becomes automatic doubt when such ‘error’ is found in Cook County. The infamous reputation of the locality gives rise to suspicion and distrust based on past performance.
One wonders what the story would have been if President Obama had his votes changed to Republican when he went ‘home’ to vote early just last week. However it appears that Democrat is the preferred choice in Cook County! Time for them to take a bath!
Does this voting calibration phenomenon ever change a DEM vote to Republican? Nah, didn’t think so.
This happens way too often. The votes from that macine should be held aside and contested.
It appears that way to me.
anyone think this happens in just one place?
Well, it sounds as though you may have greater technical knowledge of this than I do, but it just seems to me that, assuming a standard ballot layout, such as in columns, all that would be required would be to calibrate the machine so that touching a spot would, for example, register far enough to one side to cast a vote for the Democrat. Beyond that, I don’t know if such calibration could be page-specific, working only on those where candidates were displayed (as opposed to ballot propositions and the like).
If nothing else, it will force the Democrat traitors to be more careful.
I’ve got to finetune my bullstalin meter...
It was just an error, you see. Therefore if anyone tries to do anything the protect the integrity of our elections and prevent fraud the democrats will still block it, saying “there is no shred of evidence anywhere, ever, that our elections have a stitch of fraud!”
A computer error, like Obamacare, the IRS harddrive crashes, and Snowden’s document windfall... </ BS >
Criminal conspiracy to defraud votes should be a capital offense. Death penalty.
The only way to see it taken with the gravity of the offense.
It is subtle theft of power.
I agree and have said so more than once. But it’s a hard sell.
There’s probably more of these “uncalibrated” machines
We lived in the heart of downtown Chicago on Pearson Ave., and when I went to vote there were 4 FOUR DEMOCRATS and I ONE Republican "judge...poll watcher" whatever they are called!!! VOTE FRAUD...it's what Democrats DO BEST!! That and KILL BABIES!!
Strangely enough, machines were changing votes from Romney to Obama but eventually they said they had managed to fix the "glitch" - after quite a few votes had already been cast. But the problem was restricted to the Presidential ticket, supposedly.
Even stranger, the mistakes never go in the other direction though...
Kay Hagan is at the top of the ticket this year. Somehow, I suspect the same machine "glitch" will surface again but it will be a while before anyone catches it and "fixes" it.
Why can't we just go back to the old countable paper ballots like we used for the 220 years prior to these electronic vote stealing machines? At least it would require some effort for the Dems to stuff the boxes.
Your idea of “calibration” is close to what I was saying but there is no adjustment calibration; it all involves the code that registers the touch point and to which “bucket” it applies the vote. That part of the process is all hidden to the voter so if the code has been written to apply every 10th republican vote to a democrat then the voter will never know.
