Two fresh sightings of alleged sniper Eric Frein has resulted in more closed public schools in northern Pennsylvania and a shift in a massive manhunt to near where Mr. Frein went to high school – and where he was a member of the high school rifle team.
The pressing question of how a single man has outmaneuvered 1,000 trained law enforcement officers in the Pocono Mountains for over five weeks suggests that Frein has used a home-field advantage, long-term planning, and survival skills to resemble a “wilderness ninja,” a term some use to describe a rare breed of native scouts who can, in essence, morph into shadows.
But while true native scouts are bulwarks for good, Frein has “gone to the dark side,” says Shane Hobel, the founder of the Mountain Scout Survival School in New York’s Hudson Valley.
“This guy is on a totally different parallel [than a native scout] but it is a parallel,” says Mr. Hobel. “That makes him a dangerous individual, and the fact that he’s got sniper capability makes it even more dangerous.”

gotta agree with that even though the distance wasnt that great.
I don’t think they release where he shot from so perhaps it was further than 100 yds and perhaps it was shorter. I cannot imagine it was 1000 yds or even 500 considering the heavily populated area with buildings.
To the popular media, “sniper capability” means “a guy with some kind of gun”
He’ll be blurry and out of focus.
Eric Rudolph was on the run for five years. They only caught him because he ran out of food and tried to raid a grocery store’s trash bin one morning.
Law enforcement knows this, and yet they act like they’ve never seen this scenario before.
So, instead of Snow Days they'll have make-up Homicidal Maniac Days?................

If this guy wanted to kill more cops he would have done so already. With no real danger these bureaucrat ninjas are having a grand ol time stomping around the woods with all their military toys getting paid time and a half. Why on earth would they want this guy found.

If Frein is really that smart and such a great survivalist, then he could be damn near to Canada by now, not hanging around waiting to shoot school kids-shouldn’t the authorities be searching the woods on the way to the nearest border crossing?
