“Keene Pumpkin Festival Rioters Threw Full Liquor Bottles and Billiard Balls at Police, Officials Say”

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3217569/posts

Do you happen to know if the rioters were singing the Star-Spangled Banner as they were assaulting police officers with billiard balls and full liquor bottles?

Now, could you further explain how the Keene riots and Ferguson riots differed and what you think should be done to rioters that throw full liquor bottles at the police?

The presence of “billiard balls” or vodka bottles still doesn’t negate my argument that the crowd dynamics were different to identical police tactics, or of my stance that any argument of racial inequality in police response is complete nonsense.

Objects were thrown at the police. At Ferguson and at Keene. We get it. Who did the throwing or caused the damage, not what was thrown, is the question at hand. What was thrown is a distraction.

As for the anarchists, I don’t think they care much for the Star Spangled, much less sticking around post-vandalism to lead a group singalong. More likely, they’d prefer a few rousing verses of Le Internationale instead - if they can remember the words.

It was reportedly the decision of the fire department to let the street fire burn being it didn’t pose a threat to any structures. This attracted the drunk singers. After a loonytoon decided firewalking might be fun, the boys in yellow moved everyone back.

Speaking of which, here’s some good news. The student who’s car was flipped met his replacement goal in just one day. The heading reveals one alleged perp, the comments another, and one definitely is not a Keene U student.

There have been over 84 arrests in the last 48 hours. Colleges in several states are cooperating in helping to identify those involved. In the meantime, Keene is sitting quietly at home waiting for justice to play out in it’s slow and sure way:

“College President Anne Huot said in an emailed statement that the festival has been promoted by others “as a destination for destructive and raucous behavior”...”

“detectives said they will use images on social media to identify more people involved.”

“According to Student Body President Bobby Graham, the majority of students were not involved in the riots....”When I was out there helping people, I didn’t see faces I recognized,” said Graham. “And if I did, I saw spectators.”
