The confidential memo from a former pollster for President Obama contained a blunt warning for Democrats. Written this month with an eye toward Election Day, it predicted “crushing Democratic losses across the country” if the party did not do more to get black voters to the polls.
“African-American surge voters came out in force in 2008 and 2012, but they are not well positioned to do so again in 2014,” Cornell Belcher, the pollster, wrote in the memo, dated Oct. 1. “In fact, over half aren’t even sure when the midterm elections are taking place.”
Mr. Belcher’s assessment points to an urgent imperative for Democrats: To keep Republicans from taking control of the Senate, as many are predicting, they need black voters in at least four key states. Yet the one politician guaranteed to generate enthusiasm among African Americans is the same man many Democratic candidates want to avoid: Mr. Obama.
Now, Democrats are deploying other prominent black elected officials and other surrogates, buttressed by sophisticated voter targeting efforts, to stoke black turnout. At the White House, the president is waging an under-the-radar campaign, recording video advertisements, radio interviews and telephone calls specifically targeting his loyal African-American base.....

In 2008 and 2012 those voters voted because they had free transportation to and from the polls. Those people won’t vote without getting something for free.
Any Republican that actually wanted to win would simply run an add in black media asking “What has Obama done for the black community?” and then run the increase numbers in crime/unemployment, the decrease in education and all the rest. No further comment. Just finish it with a line like “Time to vote for change before all hope is lost”
Then refuse to do any media interviews about it or simply reply with a URL linking to the actual fed stats...not that the target market would look them up. But it would put the fear of God in the liberals and send them into a race baiting frenzy that further ads SHOULD capitalize on.

Have you no shame man? No shame? Here the DNC was trying to inject some positive into the conversation and then you go blaspheme. Look, there is a JustUS Dept. approved procedure for being white and speaking the Blessed Name that involve Bkg checks, diversity training classes and confession at Rev. Wright’s church. After being personally consecrate by the Holey trinity of Wright, Jackson and Sharpton, you have to do penance for a week and then lay a wreath on the grave of he who bears the Blessed Name.
Finally, you have to burn a Zimmerman statue in effigy then go out and lynch yourself because nothing you could ever do will absolve you of things you had nothing to do with 200 years ago.

I overheard a conversation between two blacks at the gym. One was “telling” the other to vote for FL’s former governor Crist. The listener said, “But he’s a Republican!” The teller said, “He’s a Democrat now.” “Oh, okay, I’ll vote for him.”
What? That’s it? He is now a Democrat so he’ll vote for him? Not one word was spoken about policies or positions, just that he is now a Democrat. I conclude that the Democratic candidate could be Satan himself and it wouldn’t matter. They’d still vote for him.
No different from many on the right that reflexively vote Republican ‘no matter what’.

For a Democrat, it's a delicate balance. You want your black voters to be stupid enough to vote for the killing of black babies, and to keep their kids trapped in cesspool schools, etc., but not so stupid that they don't know when the election is.
Republicans will never do that for fear of being accused of telling blacks, “You’ve been stupid up to now.”
Of course there was nothing about policies. That would require reading something. It would require a few moments of thought.
What the Democrats have done is made themselves into a TRIBE. No thought required.

That’s funny, heard a similar conversation(?) at my kids baseball game, except they were going on about how Christie (I’m in NJ) is stealing everything from black schools for his Swiss bank account, and THATS why you have to vote democrat...
