We don't need another so-called 'czar'; we need presidential leadership, Cruz said in response to the president appointing Ron KlainVice President Joe Bidens ex-chief of staff, who was at the center of the 2009 stimulus bill and the Solyndra scandalas Ebola czar. This is a public health crisis, and the answer isn't another White House political operative.
Cruz said that instead of a czar, Obama should be leading by banning flights from Africa and securing the border with Mexico.
The answer is a commander in chief who stands up and leads, banning flights from Ebola-afflicted nations and acting decisively to secure our southern border, Cruz said. The Ebola outbreak shouldn't be treated as yet another partisan battle by the White House; rather, we should come together in bipartisan unity to take these common-sense steps to protect the American people.
Cruz said that if the president wont take action, Congress should reconvene now and pass a flight ban.
"And if the President will not act, if he will not lead, then Congress should immediately reconvene for an emergency session to enact a flight ban and take any other necessary measures to protect the health and safety of Americans, Cruz said.

” Im sure a lot of people would take Biden over Obama for 2 years. However, by putting Biden in that position, you boost his chances at winning the Presidency in 2016 “
Nah.....Biden suffers from terminal “foot in mouth” disease.
If he took over for the terrorist POTUS, he would lose next time.
That the man in the WH is incapable was obvious enough in Term I, but has becoming overwhelming evident in term II . Perhaps a majority of the voting public doesn't realize it yet, but certainly our elected representatives in both parties do, and so do the leaders of foreign countries inimical to our national interest.
One cannot blame the Democrats. They are true to their loonie Left ideology. The real question is, " Can the GOP decide its constitutional duty is more important than Boehner/McConnell business-as-usual? " The GOPe is just as aware as we are that the party might very well be in its death-throes. Will it decide that preserving its share of the swag is worth taking the Republic down with it?
Ted, there's an election in 2 weeks. What's the :
PROGRAM
PLAN
Who are the LEADERS?
Obama is not performing. if the GOP does not perform over the next session of Congress, we might as well kiss the Republic goodbye and join a militia.
But, BUT I say, we should not sell this assklown crook too short politically. He is an icon for Democrats. He is a very shrewd pol, knows where every body in DC is buried, and who did it. After all, Steve, this is the guy who discovered Barak H. Obama, ...."the clean Negro with no accent," as Joey Plugs called him. He is also a great campaigner with that human touch Obama lacks outside of the 'hood. "Yo, I am a stupid and a little drunk ....just like you." The base loves it!
Also bear in mind that while we find him dumb, this guy has enriched himself (and his family) to multimultimillionaire status. While anyone would be better than Obama, Joey worries me above all in foreign aggairs.
GO TED!!
PING!
It doesn’t matter how low his chances are, the point is they would be better if he was an incumbent President for two years. That might not be enough to get him elected, but it’s still not a gift we should want to give the Dems.
“Biden would be much better than Obama.”
Okay, and if Biden just appoints Obama as his VP, then gets re-elected in 2016 and resigns, how about that? You want 3 Obama terms?
Thanks for the ping!
Yes, but he is only speaking of impeachment. The subject I’m commenting on is an outlandish proposal that he could be declared unable to fulfill the duties of the office under the 25th Amendment (against the wishes of VP and executive branch), and that route would carry no such future disqualification.
Can't happen.
A person ineligible to be elected President cannot run for the Vice Presidency.
Ergo, no three terms.
It would only work if the public was calling for it. There would also need to be a functioning press that contained actual "journalists", who embraced their constitutional role to protect the public, by keeping them informed about the true goings-on of our government.
None of these things exist, or are happening.
All Ted can do right now, is keep people informed of what's gone wrong with this administration- constitutionally and otherwise, and offer alternative solutions.
Our people might wake up at some point, and demand impeachment, but they are still asleep at this point.
It is up to the democrats to put the well being of the American people ahead of their political interests, and deal with O. (Never gonna happen-I know)
“Your proposals come down to hide in a corner and pray.”
No, quite the opposite. My proposals are do everything that is actually possible to hinder Obama and the Democrats until we can win the next election, and the one after that.
“Mine are enact the 25th as it was intended.”
No, yours are to try to twist the 25th to be a secondary route to impeachment, for which it was never intended, and in fact, nobody will ever use it the way that you propose.
“any argument against it is simply an argument to do nothing.”
No, that’s total nonsense. It’s not “your way or the highway”, except in your own mind.
“He is unable/unwilling to discharge his duty. 100% Fact.
The Constitution gives us A25 as a direct remedy. 100% Fact.”
The 25th Amendment was made to govern the succession when a President is medically incapable of fulfilling the duties (that’s why it was passed after Kennedy’s assassination, because people realized that he might have been kept alive medically but still would have been braindead). It has nothing to do with the President not fulfilling his duties the way that Norm Lenhart thinks he should. Your 100% fact, the way you apply it, becomes 100% fantasy.
“A person ineligible to be elected President cannot run for the Vice Presidency.”
Norm’s not arguing for impeachment, which would make Obama ineligible. He’s arguing to try and remove Obama via the 25t Amendment (a total fantasy, but tell him that). The 25th Amendment says nothing about disqualification from office, merely removal and succession.
It remains that, having served one-and-a-half terms as President, Obama would be ineligible for the Vice Presidency (since he was ineligible to serve as President again).
“It remains that, having served one-and-a-half terms as President, Obama would be ineligible for the Vice Presidency (since he was ineligible to serve as President again).”
You’re conflating two different things though, to arrive at that conclusion. The 22nd Amendment’s modification of eligibility to be elected President, and Article 2’s rules for eligibility to hold the office of President or Vice President. There is no definitive statement anywhere in the Constitution, or relevant jurisprudence, to say that those two types of eligibility are the equivalent. So, to stop him from being appointed, you would need to take the matter to the Supreme Court, or pass an Amendment to make the equivalency explicit.
I just noticed another thing in Amendment 25 that makes your proposal absolutely impossible. If the President sends a letter to Congress saying no inability to serve exits, it takes a vote of 2/3s of both houses of Congress to override it.
So, if impeachment is impossible (and it is), your route is even more impossible!
2 is bad enough...
Good point.
Good points, all.

I don’t disagree with anything you said. You don’t pull any punches, and that is why I always try to read your posts.
