"Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Dr. Thomas Frieden began his grilling Thursday on Capitol Hill with a stark admission that his agency is still searching for ways to combat the Ebola virus as it burrows into the United States.
Two members of Congress are calling for his resignation, and the White House began the torturous process of throwing him under the disease-control bus on Thursday afternoon, saying that Frieden is 'taking responsibility' for his agency's screwups.
'We're always open to ideas for what we can do to keep Americans safe,' Frieden said in his opening statement, departing from his prepared remarks in the face of a hostile and impatient panel in a House Energy and Commerce subcommittee.
'We would consider any options to better protect Americans,' he said later during a Q&A period."

“We have porous borders” Dr. Frieden
Absolutely no doubt in my mind the cabinet meeting called by obola had nothing to do with protecting America, rather they schemed to further trample what little liberty remains in our hands. This is what Rahm means when he says ‘never let a crisis go to waste’. We are a conquered people, I’m afraid.
Naturally.
That is the main question.
Is that a heart over the “i” in “still”?
‘We would consider any options to better protect Americans,’ he said later during a Q&A period.”
Hey STUPID, forbid travel from infected countries and close the effin’ borders!!!!
Consider that and then DO IT!!!!
The government is screwing this up, they are screwing up the IRS, the borders, healthcare, and more.
The government is not equipped to run these agencies. Especially with JV Obama leading from behind.
LOL - it sure looks like it! I had not noticed. This guy gives new meaning to the phrase “light in the loafers”.
If you don't, please contribute monthly to Free Republic to continue to get the reality of Ebola. This reality might save the lives of your loved ones.
Oh, good. How about this:
BAN OR QUARANTINE ANY TRAVELERS WHO HAVE VISITED WITHIN 30 DAYS ANY COUNTRIES WHERE THERE IS AN EBOLA EPIDEMIC.
“Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Dr. Thomas Frieden began his grilling Thursday on Capitol Hill with a stark admission that his agency is still searching for ways to combat the Ebola virus as it burrows into the United States.”
But they know for sure closing the border and banning flights from Liberia are something they wont be doing....great.
This!
And if they do not come forward on their own, make it a federal offense with a minimum of 20 years in federal prison.
If they live that long.
If it gets even close to this bad here we’re in deep trouble. I understand why the Seabees and Army engineers are being sent over there to build treatment facilities. Monrovia only has three in the entire city.
Here is an idea -
1. don’t let anyone from those 3 companies come into the US
2. Seal the border so they don’t come across our wide open border with Mexico.
This is real simple. Quarantine.
Friedon told Rep. Tim Murphy (R-Pa.) before today’s hearing: “.... the administration fears a travel ban from affected countries would hurt fragile West African economies.”
