The day begins as we converge in North Texas to once again celebrate the life of Texas Cowboy in the fashion he would want us to have fun together.

Itinerary

that’ll work fine for what you want, and have even
figured out a system by which to fabricate a base
appropriate to the thickness of the wood.

Shooting competitions are work as I hate to lose even a “friendly” competition and I am at the shoots to have fun.

I would never party, drink and stay up late prior to any competition. I would spend several days practicing and trying to get my blood pressure down, etc.

This isn’t the first time a competition have been proposed but the above is the reason we never had one. Also even among friends there are sore losers and that is a real downer for everybody.

I can’t argue with your logic about not wanting to have a shooting competition, Eaker. Makes perfect sense to me.

But we could still wager beers over who could hit a target first. Nothing official, and there wouldn’t be any sore losers that way. Just fun, like it’s meant to be.

Windflier and some others want to get North Texas FReepers together for maybe another Shoot in Novermber.

Yep. Libertybel and mylife will be contacting all the NorTex folks who were at the Shoot to see if they'd like to get together again before Thanksgiving.

We'll be sure to put up a thread about it, as well, and ping everyone to it.

It’s settled then - no competition.

But we still got to get some group pictures of all the lever action rifles and their owners.

Thanks, I'm just imagining something like two shooters agreeing to wager a beer on who hits an agreed upon target first. Something like that. Nothing formal.

I agree that a managed shooting competition for the whole gang would be a negatory for all the reasons you mentioned before.
