Well, Freepers. We have the winners.
Who is “we?” I would never root for a team from San Fransicko.
Have you foreseen the outcome of tonight’s game?
As a Red Sox fan who fondly (oh so fondly) remembers the 2004 American League playoffs, not so fast.
When did the NLCS become best of 5?
I'm not sure that's true. The Royals are the first team to make it from Wild Card to the Series without a loss, i.e. win 8 straight. But I think other teams have done it in 7.
How so?
Someone needs to name a venue “SPIT Stadium”. For the very first time in my long life, I have been watching baseball. (Got over soccer, football and ice-hockey).
What has been appalling are the constant camera shots of the bullpens where spitting appears to be the only activity aside from pitching, hitting, running and catching.
In light of the need for personal hygiene in this Ebola decade - could the NBL dispense with this disgusting practice? And could the network videographers avoid filming it?
MVP= most vomit provoking!!!!
... and, given that the Giants are still one game short, you're not one of them.
Go back to sleep :-)
Matheny out coached himself last night. Should have left Martinez in a bit longer. Sometimes this drive to play the percentages of righty versus righty etc bites you.
I hate the Giants.
Thats alright. With 300 or so consecutive sell outs at AT&T Park SF has enough fans anyway.
A's fan?
It seems some of us are paying attention....lol
From the above link: Stealing signs is nothing to be proud of, Thomson said in an interview, at age 77. Of course, the question is, did I take the signs that day?
Prager also interviewed all 21 surviving players and the one living coach, and found that many are at last willing to confirm that they executed an elaborate scheme relying on an electrician and a spyglass.
Thompson remains neutral neither denying or confirming.
Out garnering bums, eh?
“The operative word here is will (beat), not did (beat)”
Read raj bhatia’s post that I was responding to. Raj is basing his prediction on past Giant playoff successes. I just figured I’d mention 2002 as well ;)
I read Raj’s rather obnoxious post twice and he only
went back as far as 2010. Give the guy a little credit
for knowing that SF hasn’t won EVERY p-off series they have
ever been in.
Miller came out after 10 pitches. Woulda been an issue if they tied it in the 9th.
We finally got a thread.
if the Orioles could have won a couple, coulda been a fab series with 5 straight days. Herrera-Davis-Holland cannot do 5 in a row.
