As bipartisan calls to block travel from Ebola-stricken countries increase, the White House remains adamant that a commercial travel ban is simply not happening.
“[A travel ban] is something that is not on the table at this point,” White House press secretary Josh Earnest explained on Wednesday, claiming shutting down commercial travel would “prevent the expeditious flow of personnel and equipment into the region.”
“So that’s why, right now, a travel ban is not on the table,” Earnest later reiterated.
On Monday, former surgeon general Richard Carmona recommended that a travel ban remain “on the table.” (Carmona ran as a Democratic Senate candidate in Arizona during the 2012 election.)
If we have an epidemic of Ebola then every last politician who opposed this travel ban should be tried and executed for treason. Because aiding and abetting an enemy of the United States is treason and Ebola is an enemy of the United States.

How would a travel ban FROM these places prevent us from sending people and humanitarian aid there?
They keep saying a travel ban would prevent us from sending help there. Why can’t we send people and aid but ban travel back from those places???

How about a policy by which we send people over to help but they can’t return here until they have been quarantined for 21,days???? I can’t believe a policy has to be either/or, an all or nothing situation.

Please don’t be so theatrical.
Treason is such a blasé and old-fashioned word in our global thinking. How can anyone commit treason when we have no enemies and no secrets for one another.
Besides, all an American politician has to do is to say: “I take full responsibility.”, and all is forgiven.
The ban will last until the 13,000 West Africans due to arrive this month hit the streets ...
