My husband flies , or let me say he USED TO fly. He’d bring me home The Plague almost every time.
The last several years he’d take up to 4 flights a year.
2 weeks ago I said “no more flying”. He is not disagreeing with me.
I only flew 3 times, last time in 2008 before the election.
I will never ever fly again.
Our family has lots of air travel planned starting this weekend and running through Thanksgiving. Most for work, but also an out of town wedding. My nephew’s a pilot for a major carrier, and flies international flights. Not much can be done about it, I truly believe control is an illusion, however Vitamin C though boosts your immune system, so not a bad idea.

The comments on NBC, including those about the CDC and Obama are pretty rough, too. It is doubtful the typical commenter there would be anti-Obama, prior to recent events, so, this may be telling.
The DM articles were ripping the second infected nurse a new one. Particularly after it became clear she’d traveled AFTER she developed a fever. AND that her family, who had been instructed to STAY PUT, immediately flew out of the same airport to Dallas to ‘be with her’.

I can’t say that I disagree (with either you or the comments regarding “Amber”.) Whatever nursing school she went to evidently did not teach common sense, and it sure doesn’t seem to run in the family..

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
You know, maybe criticizing the 2nd nurse, Ms. Vinson, is unfair. Now I’m seeing threads on FR that the nurse called CDC and was cleared to fly, even though she had a mild fever.
