Gabby Giffords launches new gun control campaign, and it's all about women (+video)

Former US Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D) of Arizona began a nine-state tour Tuesday in Maine focusing on the need for tougher gun control measures to protect women and children.

Ms. Giffords, who was severely wounded in a 2011 shooting in Tucson, Ariz., that killed six people, has become a key figure in the national gun control campaign. The campaign highlights the increasingly prominent role women have played in both sides in the gun control debate – particularly since the Sandy Hook Elementary shootings in 2012.

I live in Maine and if Gabby Giffords was in Maine on Tuesday, this is the first I’ve heard of her “visit.”

Maine is gun country so, aside from a collection of assorted moonbats, her misguided and nonsensical pleas will fall on deaf ears here in The Pine Tree state.

Notice the CSM's use of the term "intimate partners." This is another liberal attempt to lump together husbands and live-in boyfriends. In reality, the number of women killed by their husbands is very small, while the number of women killed by live-in boyfriends is much larger. The problem is irregular living arrangements, not guns or lawfully-married husbands.
