I’m a reservist as well, and not familiar with the term “Code Red” as applied to involuntary mobilizations. Might be shorthand, but not an official status as far as I’m aware.

Friend in the military says they are about to go on "CODE RED." I have several friends in the military, Sgts, 2nd Lts, Capts....and none of them have any clue as to what your friend is talking about. None of them have been put on alert or have heard of anything like that. Though, they probably wouldn't tell me if they wanted to. They're good soldiers.

Never heard the term Code Red until that crappy Tom Cruise movie came out in the early 90’s. It’s never been part of Marine Corps language.
Maybe some army reserve and NG units use it, but I doubt it.
