The deadly Ebola virus has been contracted by someone inside the United States for the first time.
A nurse who had worn protective gear during her "extensive contact" at a Dallas hospital with an Ebola patient who died tested positive during a preliminary blood test, officials said Sunday.

She wore *some* protective gear, and may have followed protocols.
Wearing and then *removing* protective gear actually requires training, and practice. Insufficient practice would not be surprising amidst the delayed preparedness caused by wishful thinking.
I’m surprised in a way that there are as relatively few cases in Africa as there have been. Could there be more nonfatal or even nonsymptomatic cases than we know, that nobody has identified?
How much do we pay for a single F-22? The problem is that they have put so little thought into how to contain Ebola. The first outbreak, in a rural area, was contained and the threat ended as soon as the victims were mostly dead. So here they are, unprepared, as the disease works its way through urban populations. May be like a war. all you can do is to minimize the casualties, and attack the objective with sufficient force.
ping
And... again I’m curious. Do they even try to disinfect first, e.g. bleach shower in the suit?
We don’t know exactly how she got it, but we do know who she got it from and had he stayed in Liberia, this nurse would not have ebola. Pretty simple.
Trust the Feral Gubm'nt.
They are bound to get something right one of these days.
It wasn't exactly at the top of their list like ObamaPhones and all that.
Has the CDC cited precisely which protocol was broken?
No. Will they? Doubtful because they don’t know . Will the CDC admit it doesn’t know? Depends on what King Obama tells them to say.
Bottom line, can’t trust the CDC
YUP!!!!
SIMPLE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM:
YOU WANT TO COME TO THE US FROM AN EBOLA COUNTRY....You get your ticket and visa, on that day you are quaranteened for 30 days, then you get on plane if ok. If you are traveling here , that should be no problem. We don’t cancel visitors, they just wait.
RE:The healthcare worker in Spain was said to have touched her clothing after removing it. Truthful statement? Who knows. But that is what was said.
The very same CNN article in this link maintains ebola is not that easy to catch. Yet neither CNN or the CDC can explain precisely how the nurse caught ebola.
Wow,,the arrogance is just astounding!
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
“had he stayed in Liberia, this nurse would not have ebola. Pretty simple.”
Great. Can you explain that to Pres__ent Obola?
THAT ^^^ should've been the Dallas Health Director/CDC's statement.
Here is my solution..take all these Ebola riddled vermin, and take them to the White House, let them cough on Obama’s daughter’s see how he likes them apples
I don’t understand why there isn’t video taken of all the Ebola related procedures and removing of protective clothing so that they can identify mistakes and critique them at meetings.
” But, I did everything right “ will look good on her tombstone.
