The head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said there was "clearly" a breach in protocol that led to a Texas health care worker contracting Ebola after treating a Liberian man who later died from the virus, although authorities do not yet know what that breach was.
"We're deeply concerned about this new development," Dr. Thomas Frieden said in an interview on CBS' "Face the Nation" Sunday. "I think the fact that we don't know of a breach in protocol is concerning because clearly there was a breach in protocol. We have the ability to prevent the spread of Ebola by caring safely for patients."
"The fact is that the individual who became ill was, as per protocol, self monitoring. Immediately when they developed symptoms they isolated themselves, they were promptly isolated at the hospital so that any further spread from that individual was stopped," Frieden added.

Our hospitals are the last place an Ebola patient should be anywhere near.

Apropos of nothing- I do not like this man. I do not trust him.
Dittos! I would not be surprised if we find later that he believes in culling the human population. He is that creepy! He just gives me the shudders.
The question that isn't being answered is how much potential for further spread since this person was not quarantined...
He should be personally held responsible for this patient and all that follow, along with Obama.
Allowing flights to come in west Africa is evil.
The breach in protocol was allowing Thomas Eric Duncan into the United States in the first place.
Indeed, the breach in protocol was flying Liberians into the US.
Ah yes, Michelle’s black widow dress. Hard to believe it was designed by accident.
Yep. Even though the hospital initially made some mistakes, I would still trust their info more than CDC and local Dallas dem officials at this point.
Once again, we had the CDC slow walking results, so the state lab put out the news. Obvious that the CDC does not want to be transparent AT ALL.
I think the “breach in protocol” is actually a breach in brains on the CDC’s part, by forgetting to tell the HCWs to wash their gloves in bleach before removing.
This is what happens when political correctness is more important than qualifications and diversity. Incompetence is the hallmark of this administration from top to bottom.
Hunh? If you are referring to Freiden, THIS MAN WAS HAND PICKED BY OUR DEAR LEADER HIMSELF!!!
I understand they are hiring and paying big wages in ND.
Think I see part of the problem.

Part of the agencys embrace of Dr. Frieden probably has to do with politics. Despite being in a Republican state, the disease centers staff, like much of the public health world, is overwhelmingly Democratic, so employees tend to prefer directors appointed by Democratic presidents.
We need an animated GIF of Dr. Friedentart getting the hook.
No, that is the protocol.
It would have been a breach of protocol not to let him in.
Hand picked from where? He sounds like he is from an alternate universe version of Mr. Rodger’s Neighborhood with his irritatingly smooth monotone voice.
Good work as always Maggie!
Bingo! Wonder what he is doing in Dallas? Is he an expert on Ebola?
