As a minor aside I think “evil” is a theological term and such beings are largely in God’s hands not ours. “Bad people” is more manageable. We can deal with such individuals as they are ultimately deficient. The Clinton’s are “Bad People” deficient in sexual morals, are greedy beyond bounds, liars of the first rank-right up there with “The Divine One.” There are not many human vices that cannot be attributed to those two. They are “Bad People.”
I appreciate the response. I will say that if the word evil doesn’t apply to Bill and Hillary Clinton, then bad has simply ceased to exist.
I have no problem using theological terms.
Word games?
In the Old Testament, the word translated “evil” is “ra”, which comes from “ra’a”, meaning to spoil (go rotten) or shatter in pieces. In the New Testament, “poneros” is cognate with that Hebrew word, whereas “kakos” refers to intrinsic evil and “sapros” refers to one falling from good into evil.
