You're damned right. Fact are stubborn things. And the fact is that your strategy has put us exactly where we are. Even when we had a majority, the Republicans did not put forth any conservative initiatives. They have already indicated that they will continue playing nice with the Democrats and have openly declared conservatives to be the enemy of the party. Do you not believe your own party leaders? You want to reward the prostitutes who have ruined the party?
Every election, the GOP puts forth another set of moderate pukes and then complains that the conservatives didn't vote. The FACT is that conservatives have voted; time and time again. In fact, more conservatives voted for Romney than Bush. The truth is that no one votes for these mealy-mouthed Democratic-Light RINOs because they aren't conservative and they aren't liberalthey have no natural constituency. It is asinine to believe that you will gain votes by pushing the most lukewarm, boring, do-nothing, stand-for-nothing political hacks. And it is not even conceivable that any such group will promote conservative legislation or make principled decisions.
If you continue to vote for RINOs, you will get more. This election will have absolutely no effect on Obama, regardless of how many RINOs you elect. It could possibly have an effect on the GOP if they realize that conservative are not going to vote for their RINOs.
Go ahead. Sell your vote; set aside your principles; go begging to Rove and his minions. Prove them right--he expects you to continue with your party-loyalist mentality. Stay on the plantation; don't upset the Massah! Just don't ever talk about any Democrat constituency again! You are the exact same.
Conservatives refused to vote for RINOs in five of the past six Presidential elections. All that got us was President Clinton, President Obama and damned near President Algore. How has that strategy been working out for you so far?
Do whatever you can to get the best candidates nominated that you can vote for, but when it comes time to vote all you can do is pick between the candidates that you actually have to choose from. Unless you are on the ballot, you will never have a candidate to vote for that you agree with all of the time. The best you can hope for is an opportunity to vote for a candidate that you agree with most of the time. In most cases, your choice comes down to which is the lesser of two evils. That is reality whether you like it or not.
In one month, either the Democrats will continue to control the Senate for another two years or Republicans (including a lot of RINOs) will control the Senate. Those are the only two possibilities. One of those two choices is going to occur, whether or not you refuse to pick one.
In a Republican/RINO controlled Senate, at least the conservatives have a chance of blocking some of Obama's far left wing liberal judicial appointments. In a Democrat/Harry Reid controlled Senate, then conservatives have no chance whatsoever to block anything.
If you seriously think that you are sending anyone a message by not voting then you are seriously deluding yourself. The only message that you send by refusing to vote is that you give up and the liberals win.
