Here are some of the details -- wildly different, depending on who's offering the information -- that Officer John Daily submitted in his official report:
1. When he arrived, a shirtless, "heavily intoxicated" and "belligerent at first" Track Palin, Sarah Palin's adult son, was about to step into a white limousine with his parents, Sarah and Todd. They'd all been at the party at Korey Klingenmeyer's house.
2. Track told the officer some guys were "talking rudely" to his sisters and making them cry. So he stuck up for them. When one of his friends, identified only as Steven, got punched by one of the allegedly rude guys, the fight started. Todd said that's when "everything escalated and it was a situation they couldn't walk away from."
3. Bristol Palin ended up on the ground during the fight. The Palin family said that's because Klingenmeyer knocked her down.
4. Klingenmeyer offered a different version of the story. He told the officer he wanted to press charges against Bristol, who he said had told him "he doesn't own this place and that she will kick his a--." after he tried to stop her from fighting. Then, Klingenmeyer said, Bristol hit him. He said she could "hit him again if it makes her feel better and she does." After six or so "pretty hard" punches, he said he grabbed her fist and Bristol fell down. "At that time," the officer reported, "he said several guys from the party stepped in to help him and a fight broke out and the Palins ended up losing."

Oh, sure. Like CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS all covered it on their news broadcasts. Are you serious?
The news media does its damnedest to cover up or downplay anything that happens to Dem politicians and their families. I just can’t believe I’m having to make such a basic point here at a place like FreeRepublic.
Listen lil diddy...
the Palins are at their essence the truest form of exceptionalism that America has to offer.
I would rather live, die in hopes of continuing their heritage than anyone that practices politics in DC.
So if you want to call that stupid white trash thinking go right ahead...but honestly that only proves your shortcomings not mine.
Well if Joe Biden had actually BEEN there when his niece was spouting off, and then had posted on Facebook later on how proud he was of her, then yes, it would have been quite the story. You don’t think its newsworthy when a former Governor and Vice Presidential candidate is right in the middle of a drunken brawl with her children? Really?
I have seen NOTHING exceptional that any of the Palin’s have done with the exception of Mrs. Palin. The rest are... rather ordinary by American standards (drunken brawls, out of wedlock kids, broken marriages, etc.).
You think they are exceptional? Wow. Your standards are.... odd. But don’t let that get in the way of your hero worship.
I would probably be cognizant of the fact that my mother is a national figure and would 1) not get drunk before attending the party and 2) calmly gather up my family and leave the site.
Aaaaaand we have the correct answer, folks.
Don’t shame your family. Just say no to intoxication. Sheesh. Their mom already has a target on her back. Have some dignity.
Sarah Palin SHOULD be proud of her kids. They stood up for one another, when ganged-up on and attacked.
Apparently not something we’d see nowadays in much of the rest of America (as even evidenced by posters at FR), which has become a limp-wristed, cowardly population of pathetic faggots. As I stated elsewhere, this used to be “John Wayne’s America,” but it’s now “My Little Pony’s America,” and you sure as hell fit that bill. Maybe you should go get some smelling salts or something.
Loser guy would be a triple loser guy if he hit her back, so I’m at a loss how he could win that one.
Would you consider him a winner guy if he decked her?
I can’t tell if he did anything wrong or not. It appears he didn’t hit her back. That’s not the actions of a loser.
Perhaps he did insult her. Is that grounds for her to hit him when he can’t even defend himself?
I look very dimly on men who hit women. I view women who hit men dimly also, and to be taking advantage of a situation, since many men simply won’t fight back physically.
If a guy decks a woman, there’s not many judges around that will think he was justified in doing so.
Clearly i’m in the wrong. I’ll be instructing my kids later to either a) knock someone up, or b) GET knocked up. Then down a few and start swinging.
I do love armchair tough guys. You’re starting to strike me as the “living in mom’s basement” type.
It is rather low class to point out such things. This incident, and your response reminds me of Andrew Jackson. He once beat a man nearly to death for insinuating something about his wife. He did fight duels over Honor, and he had no compunction about killing such people.
Andrew Jackson related what his mother told him.
''Andrew, never tell a lie, nor take what is not your own, nor sue anybody for slander, assault and battery. Always settle them cases yourself.''
You may see things differently, but I don't see having a brawl with people as being a negative thing. I consider it to be evidence that some people will fight when provoked, and I admire that characteristic.
I've had enough of milquetoast polite losers in this country. We need fighters.
Seems to me the Palins must know they’re going to run into loud mouth Leftists here and there. Let them say anything they like. Walk away or leave. Don’t get into a vulgar shouting match with them. You can’t win that sort of encounter.
This isn’t about wimping out. It’s about being the class act or not.
Does it prove the Palins right if they win a big brawl? No. It just makes them look extremely common.
I’m sorry, but getting too drunk and brawling at a social function like this is a looser thing to do.
Just an old fashioned beer soaked slobber-knocker.
Low class? It was pointed out that the Palin’s were the best this country has to offer. I didn’t make that up, someone else did. You want to set someone up on that pedestal and you’re going to have to deal with reality.
Society has evolved a bit in the past 200 years. Dueling is illegal now. If you pine for the old days, well then good for you. And if you think a whole family being in a drunken brawl is a-ok, then go for it. Next time I see this sort of thing on “Cops”, I know who I’LL be thinking about.
Still love her. Palin/Paul 2016
What makes you think they didn't. GW was Commander in Chief, yet daughters were often drunk in public. Do you suppose he told them to go get their drunk on, just to embarrass him?
And you accuse winoneforthegipper of being drunk? Your expectations are unrealistic, if you believe what you posted.
Terrific post. But it just amazes me how modern American culture has become so separated from the vibrant and rough-hewn individualism of its history, and common contexts that were the norm just a few short generations ago have become so foreign to the present. It exposes how weak and wan this country has gotten.
The people that have some weird problem with this Palin dust-up are not people I recognize as my countrymen, nor people I’d want to ally myself on anything.
And the usual suspects are acting suspicious, as usual.
Uh huh
This story only reminds me of why I love Sarah Palin.
She is more man than most men and more woman than most women.
