What right has the federal govt got to dictate what our children eat?The food is free for those who are complaining. They don't even have to turn over some of the family food stamps to get their free breakfast, lunch and healthy snack. If they disliked it enough, they'd bring their own food.
As far as ketchup, it isn't ketchup anymore. Read the label. It's vinegar, HFCS and food dye. The kids (or anyone else) shouldn't be eating any of that crap. If the kids were given a healthy salsa, there wouldn't be a problem.

Just curious. What’s HFSC? Or do we really want to know? Thanks !

I don't know where you've been shopping but I read the label of this here shop-n-save no-brand cheapo catsup and it says tomato paste, vinegar, corn syrup and onion powder. No dye, and nothing wrong with vinegar at all though you cam omit the corn syrup. In older times the labels would say sugar rather than corn syrup, if they had any sweetener.

Problem is, the new rage seems to be to ban kids from bringing their own lunches.
