SKOPJE, Oct 9 (Reuters) - A British man with symptoms of the Ebola virus died in Macedonia on Thursday and authorities said they had sealed off a hotel where he stayed, keeping another Briton and hotel staff inside.
A Health Ministry official said the man had arrived in the capital, Skopje, from Britain on Oct. 2 and had been rushed to hospital at 3 p.m. (1300 GMT) on Thursday, where he died several hours later.

Is he really “British,” or was he an African who held a British passport, I wonder. They haven’t confirmed that he had Ebola, but simply that he became sick after arriving in the country on Oct. 2 and died with various ugly symptoms. I wonder if he had been traveling in Africa or was actually from Africa for them to think that it was Ebola?
The Ebola Wars have begun.
Has the CDC added Macedonia and Madrid to the list of places on their “screening” questionnaire? You know, the one they will be using at 5 airports to keep ebola from entering the US
Oh SURE he’s “British”..!
For decades the Left LOOOVED all manner of hyphenation, but now they banish allll of it.
They wouldn’t shut up about “no more melting pot...!!”
They were doing multiculti backflips about it.
would someone ask the CDC shill if the ONE Ebola patient entered at DFW, why are they screening 5 OTHER airports.
maybe because they don’t really know what they’re doing. What is to keep someone from flying to say..Belgium then to the US from Africa?
When there’s social welfare payments in the air EVERYONE was hyphenated, but now that there’s a disease at the gates, well, they fish-and-chippify every last Brit passport holder.
Same as USA.
Sounds like some people will be getting screaming deals on Priceline...
Another that comes to mind is being that this is Spain, does this case have anything to do with the Spanish nurse or is it just coincidence?
Either way we may be looking at a breakout in Europe.
never let a crisis go to waste.
sacrifice lives for THEIR re-election.
He actually entered at Dulles and would have been screened there. Not that he should have gotten in at all...
Or Canada, S America, Japan, etc....
I.e. the most infectious stage. People who were around the splash zone will be infected, surfaces will be infected for hours, and unprotected healthcare workers will be infected.
That’s a good point.
Hyphens disappear when fingers get pointed.
Macedonia is a country by what I see, not in Spain.
Just for the record, this isn’t Spain. Macedonia is in the middle of the Balkan Peninsula. Used to be a part of the former Yugoslavia. Both Greece and Bulgaria consider it at one time to be a part of either country.
Thank you - Despite my travelling all over the planet, I’m extremely geographically challenged.
It is not really “Macedonia”. The name a provice in Greece.
It would be like New York claiming they were the original “York”.
Pella where Alexander the Great’s wife and son are buried, where his father King Philip is buried is in Greece along with Palace of the period. The burial mound is open to the public as a museum. The artifacts are written and similar to the rest of the ancient greek writings.
Either way, you are dealing with a collapsed communist block nation in FYROM. (former yougoslav republic of Macedonia) They have no real economy other than exporting people, black markets, white slavery, and other corruption.
THE ONLY hope of containing it there is for the EU to intervene in this non-EU government and essentially do the job. Blue helmets would be worse than useless.
“..surfaces will be infected for hours..”
On another thread it has a link to a “WebMD” poll (government lacky). It said Ebola can survive for 6 days under some conditions!
Are you familiar with Philip of Macedon, father of Alexander the Great?
