How quickly things have changed.

A huge group of voters known as "broken glass Republicans" used to be a dominant force on the national political scene. These were folks who would crawl a mile through broken glass to vote for George W. Bush and other Republican candidates on a ballot.

Now, the GOP couldn't even get those same voters to walk across their own living room to vote for a Republican candidate. The brutal truth here is that Republican rule in Washington back in the 2000s was a complete disaster, and may have damaged the party beyond repair.

The 2000s were a time when this poster gave the maximum to give and campaigned for others to give the maximum they could give, all for the purpose of ensuring GW Bush would have a GOP House and Senate.

And what was the result?
