Roberts Position on the Issues

Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) is leaning heavily on K Street as he tries to save the Senate seat hes held for 18 years.
Roberts has been burning up the phone lines in a frantic bid to keep pace with Greg Orman, the wealthy self-funded independent who is leading the incumbent by 10 points, according to one poll released Sunday.
The old man is raising 100 grand a day. Im serious. Ask any lobbyist of anyone in Washington if theyve gotten a call from Pat Roberts. Hes stepping up, said one Republican source close to the campaign. Its amazing what a little fear will do to somebody, the source added.
A survey of prominent Republican lobbyists revealed that Roberts, the senior Republican on the Senate Agriculture Committee, is reaching far and wide to collect chits hes earned over 34 years in Congress.
I got a call from Pat; I was glad to get it. I think hes a great senator. Ive known Pat a long time. Nobody eats, breathes and lives Kansas like Pat, said former Sen. Tim Hutchinson (R-Ark.), who is now a lobbyist with Greenberg Traurig.
K Street is a valuable resource for Roberts but relying on it carries risks, when many voters have a sour view of Washington.
Orman is worth between $21.5 million and $86 million, according to financial disclosure documents reviewed by The Kansas City Star, which will allow him to easily outspend Roberts in the campaigns final stretch.

Get every fricken lobbyist to Kansas fast!
Orman is worth between $21.5 million and $86 million
What the heck does he do for a living?
Great question
In all fairness, Palin and Cruz went there to help as well.
This is one the GOP deserves to lose along with Mississippi.
What is this suppose to mean???
In Kansas’ Senate race, you have the establishement Republican down by a whopping 10%, so the GOPe is investing cash for the win:
Kansas Senate - Roberts vs. Orman NBC News/Marist* Orman 48, Roberts 38 Orman +10
In Michgan’s Senate race, you have the conservative challenger down by only 5%, so the GOPe is hanging HER out to dry:
Michigan Senate - Land vs. Peters CBS News/NYT/YouGov Peters 46, Land 41 Peters +5

Is it sexism? Is it plutocrat incumbency protection? Or does the GOPe just hate conservatives?

According to some severely brain damaged people, that is the route to victory. Give the democrats free rein to forever shut out the opposition and we magically win.
Yep. It’s a bright idea to ....
- Give obama the opportunity to pack our courts for a generation.
- Give obama the opportunity to make it to where illegals and felons can vote.
- Give Obama the opportunity to dismantle our military.
- Give Obama the opportunity to destroy our healthcare system.
- Give Obama the opportunity to destroy our economy.
- Give Obama the opportunity to change our immigration laws.
- Give Obama the opportunity to tax us as he pleases.
- Give Obama the opportuntity to expand government to the point our system collapses.
- Give the democrats the opportunity to change the constitution (freedom of speech).
- Give Obama the opportunity to accept hundreds of thousands of muslims refugees into the USA.
Yep. That would really be sticking it to the GOPe.
I have a very difficult time reasoning with some of these severely brain damaged people.
This is one the GOP deserves to lose along with Mississippi.
Why? Roberts has a conservative record. He doesn’t have a record like Lindsey, McCain, etc.
Apparently the democrat candidate for Senate, Chad Taylor’s name will not appear on
the ballot now that he has withdrawn from the race. So essential the race becomes
a two person event with only the Roberts and Orman names on the ballot.
Isn't it so very odd?
The hate from many who call themselves conservatives is palpable for this guy but why? I guess it's just because he's old?
Wrong. The GOP will attach all kinds of legislation to stuff that Obama needs to pass. Keystone will also pass because even unions want it. This alone is worth 10's of thousands of jobs.
You're not very bright are you?
Because if we re-take the Senate, it would be an impure or pyrric win, the RATS would still shove us around, etc etc etc
Yep, some think it’s best to let the beatings continue until morale improves.
You realize Deport has already debunked this poll don't you? It says on the front page they sought out the youngest male in the household to survey. Since young people tend to be more liberal and inexperienced, this poll got the desired results it was looking for but you go ahead and continue to agitate here with it.

What you said!
Uncle Miltie already knows this. He knows everything that there is to know about Kansas politics. FR is lucky to have a guy with such encyclopedic knowledge who is willing to share it with fellow Freepers. He also knows about the CBS poll from the same day that shows the race tied. I think that both polls are baloney, but since Uncle Miltie is going with the NBC poll, we need to pay attention. He’s never wrong.
Changing Tagline.
