The rate that it’s spreading in Africa doesn’t jive with it being hard to catch.

I believe it’s either contagious before symptoms are apparent, or it’s partially airborne, or it doesn’t require cuts on the skin to infect through the skin, or some combination of the above.

Dr. Ada Igonoh caught it from a single visit to an ebola patient’s room. She touched the patient’s IV fluid bag with her bare hands, and the only time she touched the patient was to check is pulse and confirm him dead, and she was wearing double gloves at that point.

Fortunately, it hasn’t spread in Texas yet, and we are past the 9 days that it took for Duncan to show symptoms.

Ebola virus disease is not an airborne infection.

Yet it managed to 'fly' from Africa to the United States.

Viruses mutate regularly. A simple mutation and it is airborne. A sneeze in a closed room, like every room in a high rise, or modern building and everyone is exposed. ate of infection is X with mortality rate of minimum 50% for infected individuals and maybe as high as 75%.

If I was the CDC I would be working on a vaccine. If i was the Congress I would pass a law offering a bounty of $10 billion and full indemnity to any company that develops an effective vaccination for Ebola.

Of course they won't even shut down flights from Liberia, so why believe they will do anything practical or effective.

I would like to hear some medical definitions of “airborne”.

An argument can be made that this virus could be considered airborne; for example, assault by bodily fluids.
This usually involves spitting, but if a criminal state of mind can be established, then why wouldn’t coughing, sneezing, hacking, etc., the Ebola virus knowing you are infected satisfy the requirement of a harmful or offensive touching?

“not airborne”

Oh please, a sneeze causes droplets of the pathogen to be in the air.

No one ever mentions that Ebola is also a sexually transmitted disease. It’s very dangerous to keep that hushed up. But if you read to the end of paragraphs, you know that “cured” Ebola victims are told not to have sex for at least seven weeks after they are discharged from the hospital because the virus may still be alive in semen.

In that senses, at least, Ebola is not different from HIV — and you know what a wonderful job the “authorities” did with keeping HIV from spreading.

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

I would be sufficiently alarmed about it but not hysterical, we got that with HIV, “have sex and die” and I mean that was the way the commercials came off even if you were straight.

Per FR’s ‘Obola’ experts you can only get it if you have sex with a infected person for three days and the eat their brain while standing on the equator.

Does anyone knows if a person’s immune system plays a role? There are folks that have either a weak or strong immune and hiw that may play a role whether one gets ebola or any other virus.

Ebola virus disease is not an airborne infection.

"AIRBORNE"

The 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic, 1918 – 1920 (seventy percent of cases October-December, 1918), infected more than 100,000 people in its first month and 500 million people across the world in 24 months, including remote Pacific islands and the Arctic, and killed 50 to 100 million of them. That was airborne.

The 2014 Ebola outbreak is out of control, but it has "only" infected 8,000 known cases and an estimated 15,000 to 30,000 individuals in the ten months since the first known case in December, 2013. It can be spread at comparatively low risk through the air, but the primary means of spread is through physical contact with the patient or with bodily fluids on a surface (gloves, floor, skin, etc.). "Not airborne" doesn't mean it can't spread through the air, not to the CDC/WHO, just that it is primarily spread through other means.

Want to see the upshot of this WHO "revelation"? Watch the movie:

CONTAGION

and you will get a handle on what we have to look forward to and it isn't pretty.

CONTAGION is probably one of the finest, most accurate, non sensationalized examples of the realities of the spread of the disease, WHO, and government ineptitude and impotence in fighting a disease of this magnitude along with the real-world short-term, long-term ramifications and social upheaval of this kind of contagious outbreak ever put on film.

As scary as it is, it doesn't even come close to presenting the horrors of Ebola (highly contagious toxic vomit, diarrhea feces, sweat, spittle, sneeze droplets and massively infected blood literally liquifying internal organs, pooling under the skin and oozing/pouring out of EVERY orifice of the infected persons body including the pores of their skin! Multiply this scenario by THOUSANDS, TENS OF THOUSANDS AND THEN MILLIONS of infected people spread out in "hot zones" all over the world and you begin to get a handle on how seriously life threatening Ebola really is to all of us in spite of the ongoing lies coming out of Obama's mouth, the CDC, the MSM and that of the WHO that there is "nothing to worry about".

The take away from the film CONTAGION is this: the government can not protect or provide for you or your family. You MUST take matters into your own hands and BE PREPARED AHEAD OF TIME (including weapons to defend yourself) because the CDC, WHO and governments of the world will lie about the seriousness of the CONTAGION until it is WAY too late in order to keep the population in the infected areas under control to avoid "panic" and further spread of the contagion.

Then, when they can no longer keep the secret of how seriously deadly things really are their ONLY recourse is to declare martial law, quarantine whole cities and areas of the country (after they and their loved ones have been warned in advance to flee and gotten out), preventing anyone and everyone else from leaving the already infected areas by military force. Let the people in infected areas "fend for themselves" until the contagion finally burns itself out and keep the precious vaccine, once finally created, for the politically connected and important/influential "Élites" until enough vaccine can eventually be manufactured so that a vaccine lottery can be eventually established for the masses/"little people".

If you don't get a low number in their arbitrary "vaccine lottery of life", you have a slim chance of survival and its "adios muchachos".

Like I said; watch the movie CONTAGION and prepare in advance while there is still time do do so.
