Missing Ebola contact sought by Dallas County officials

In post 14 I said "The main risk group like the step daughter, Youngor, are in day 7 of hypothetical incubation. They are over the hump, so each day from now that they do not present symptoms they have a lower risk of getting Ebola. Youngor went to the house on Sunday, fed the victim, took his temp and BP, sat him up in bed etc. So she is the highest risk person to be looking at plus her family."

That was not well written. I should have talked about the homeless guy, not Youngor and other direct contacts. The case of the homeless guy is simple, he either got infected in the ambulance or he did not. If he did get infected, we have to wait 21 days following last Sunday to find out for sure and be able to rule out that case. If he did not get infected, we still have to wait because we don't know if he got infected or not.

Once that incubation period is over (2 to21 days) he will either come down with the full blown disease with all the symptoms or nothing because he either did not get infected or his immune system successfully fought it off.

There's only one other possibility that could complicate the case of the homeless guy. He could have transferred some virus on his clothes and then transferred it to someone else later including himself. So there could be an infection later than last Sunday.

You use an awful lot of words to answer a simple question.

My question; Is that statement accurate?

No, if they are infected right now they have a high risk of getting the full disease. OTOH if they are not infected right now they have zero risk of getting the full disease. Their risk is not declining, because they are either infected or they are not.

What is declining s the odds that they were infected last Sunday.
